Re: OOC:

Doesn't sound crazy to me.

But then as a gm I place all the books in the middle of the table. And say, you have this much rope...don't hang yourself...as I watch players have a fit when I use the same resources, feeling it is unfairly biased in my favor.

For example ... apparently one lvl 12 non gestalt wizard (my character) is too powerful for 9 lvl 15 gestalt half of which have access to lvl 9 spells...oh and I am not even the GM in that game.

Re: OOC:

I looked back at the original thread and one person posted back they didn’t want the game to have adult themes

Can DM change it?

Has DM stopped by?

Re: OOC:

yes gm can change the rating

no the gm has not checked in since the 25th

adult rated games are not something that is necessarily X rated, but largely that is what it is used for.

mature is sufficient for any run of the mill DND game, as long as players are not going into detailed paragraph long description of gore violence and what not.

i use adult ratted for games I run because my games border on Cthulhu, saw movie, and have a Tarantino dark and brutal reality. which is why i did not volunteer to run the game. I am quite dark and twisted. that did not seem to fit with the little folk feel that was requested for in the advertisement.

My kingmaker game is because bandits do all sorts of bad behavior
In my version they show up with a girl and tell Oleg to collect on her services

And if she escapes his wife will take the girl’s place

Re: OOC:

Sorry, ended up having a busy weekend and Monday at work so couldn't spend time online.

I changed the game rating to mature as I think that will be better. started at adult as a safe level for anything that might come up but I don't expect this game to be too graphic other than occasional descriptions of violence.

I will post this in the looking for players section and give it a couple of days to attract players. Hopefully we can get the people from the 'looking for GM' thread and a few others to round out the party.

Re: OOC:

yay (happy dance)

now Beagan how are we planing on building those horribly broken characters, to make the gm cry and derail the campaign 45 times a second......

oh sorry forgot to put that in private text....nothing to see here....these are no the droids you are looking for...

but seriously i need an answer to a question.

the sling and more specifically the halfling warsling (page 155 races of faerun)

rules as written state that str is applied to damage like with "thrown weapons"...but when it comes to the range...is it a thrown weapon with a max of 5 range increments (making the max range 250 ft, decent range) or is it classified in with the bows as a projectile weapon concerning range, using 10 range increments (making the range 500 ft, not unbelievable)

Re: OOC:

My plan involves Making sure I spend at least one skill point in the most esoteric skills possible just for fun..
And skill tricks too

Autohypnosis nice situational tricks
Iaijutsu focus extra damage to flat footed opponents and objects (the reason gremlins are so destructive)
Truespeak, mostly for the spells

Skills that never get any time in play; because all skills are class skills

I can also find/disable traps

well ok then, now i don't feel so bad about making that joke.

that is a strong plan, I like it.

I will top that with "i can hit things with my sling, that i can not see with my maxed out spot check."

the invisible foes is not the problem. the problem is telling the difference between a horse from an orc at 200 paces.

ABILITY SCORES

I have 4 methods for generating the initial ability scores, vote for what you prefer. First to three wins otherwise we will have a runoff for the two most popular choices.

1) 4d6 for each, drop the lowest roll (or highest if you are a masochist)

2)22d6, drop lowest 4, arrange remaining 18 into groups of three. Should allow an 18 or a couple of very high stats plus a few low ones, or a character well balanced across all six. Nice system because it allows you to arrange the dice any way you like.

3) 18, 15, 13, 12, 10, 8

4) 17, 16, 15, 11, 10, 9

ABILITY SCORES

I've never tried #2 so that could be interesting...

I'll do Ranked Choice Voting here so if #2 is eliminated please use my second vote :)

2) My first choice. It could be fun!
1) Second choice
3) Third choice, I prefer this for a fixed array.
4) ...

ABILITY SCORES

Also, I think a good starting point for a group is level 3.....level  1 I think is kinda hard for spellcasters, limiting their spells between memorisation.

Btw.....Galen, your gnome Cleric here (though poses as a wizard)
