Re: Character Introductions

From what I read you might also have trivial knowledge in your build
And possibly the skill trick collector of stories

Eventually knowledge devotion?

I am seeing us as very similar in that regard but likely very different in others

Re: Character Introductions

I looked at knowledge devotion and that skill trick and while they are on my plans for the future, they were edged out by other things, if only just barely.

Re: Character Introductions

Hello

I speak Gnome, Common, Goblin and Giant

I was a circus performer for many years, stronggnome mostly. Some shell games, other minor carnival stuff (walking high wire etc).
Left the circus to become a hero against a group of ogres plaguing the area.

On the path to become a Gnome Giant-Slayer

Re: Character Introductions

I am trying to imagine everyone’s manner of dress....colors etc

So if I wore a brown kilt; a long sleeved grey tunic, a reversible (green/deep purple)gnome battle cloak; socks, boots...
Would a oversized red scarf and grey leg-warmers be too much?

he is barely 2' 8" tall and at only 27 lbs he is quite thin. Wearing an "ivory white" leather explorer's outfit.

Explorer’s Outfit:
This is a full set of clothes for someone who never knows what to expect. It includes sturdy boots, leather breeches or a skirt, a belt, a shirt (perhaps with a vest or jacket), gloves, and a cloak. Rather than a leather skirt, a leather overtunic may be worn over a cloth skirt. The clothes have plenty of pockets (especially the cloak). The outfit also includes any extra items you might need, such as a scarf or a wide-brimmed hat.

I think this will give a reasonably accurite depiction of Clover on the day to day dress and attire.

We must wrap you in bubble wrap and get a special saddle to strap you into!

So is Clover our local librarian and broker of books?

Re: Maner of dress

librarian by action, bit not by trade.

he does the job, and can do it well, but no ranks in that skill...yet

his abilities don't make him a primary utility caster, but his abilities make a specialist in some key areas.

he can defend himself, at least long enough to get out of some situations.

his effective range with most of his effects is 30-60 ft so he sticks near the action. but he is as fragile as the standard wizard.

Re: Maner of dress

Yes I am a forest gnome
They range smaller than typical rock gnomes

So clover is the runt of his litter!
Bad joke only humans think gnomes have litters of offspring!

Had so much fun playing druids over the years!

TN and you can summon just about anything
Cast both heal and harm spells
Mostly a caster not really an animal companion

Re: Maner of dress

Sorry, got busy in real life again for a couple of days.

What I was thinking for the simplifying is to keep all money as gp and gems; so no need to keep track of sp, cp, and all of that. I don't think that it adds much to the game to finely detail the monetary system.

And to not keep track f non-magic ammo, equipment and spell components. I'd rather just charge something like 50gp per level after every trip into a dungeon or battle, and 10gp per level a day during travel. This can cover food, lodging, equipment replacement and repair.

Does that sound like a plan?

Re: Maner of dress

Getting?! Earning would be more apropos. It's a hard world out there and you might need to get loans from shady characters to keep your shady characters in business if the money doesn't keep flowing in. :)

Re: Maner of dress

I am used to the lifestyle upkeep rules
Though I generally try and get a discount for living mostly outdoors ; )
And crashing with friends who actually have somewhere other than a nymphs tree to sleep

Have not selected ranged weapons:
I think a short bow
A blow gun
And a sling (as backup)

Re: Maner of dress

As far as up keep, Clover can do many things that "could" reduce his cost for one thing, but the he would end up spending just as much for other things in the same places.

he does not need much in the way of food and drink...but rumors...he can get at the tavern/inn.
