Beagan WobbleCog:
Which kind of halfling?

ordinary PHB halfling.

The tallfellow and deep version don't get the bonuses to jump, climb and move silently

i got the impression that weird is not something the group is going for, so i am keeping the build simple and letting the role play add the extra flavor.

but with the idea of a shared origin i would be open to a shared "thing"

Re: Character Introductions

I don’t think the forest gnomes are weird.  A little smaller than average, a bit less gregarious and more woodsy.
A good fit for the nymphs kiss feat at the start of things

The factotum class brings its own brand of weirdness.

Re: Character Introductions

By weird I was referring to something like building a halfling with elemental subtypes from unearthed arcana or some of the la+0 templates from books

Though the idea of a miniaturized halfling to be tiny would be interesting for a caster, because they could ride thier familiar as a mount.

If we are 3rd level I must take Craft Wonderous Item so I can craft items more mundane like a self repairing traveling cloak and broom that sweeps up by magic to items more - potent. I am a creative player crafting new innovative items. Well some items are for selling to well off folks and some for personal use or trade to people who seek serious magic and offer things of value.

Anyone else taking a home I plan to have a nice warm hole with a front shop with excellent woodwork goods his take ten craft with masterwork tools is 22 if he really goes for a carefully done work taking twenty is 32. So well its good stuff. His sanctum is in back all arcane locked up. Then living space and food stuffs. Needs a woman's touch and little feet running about.

He should be a good catch being a wizard and craftsman of high quality.

I was planning on living in a tree with a wood nymph deep in the forest...
So no home in the normal sense, but forest gnomes are small even by gnome standards and a bit more fey-ish.

I travel for knowledge and to read books, I imagine some years ago I began coming to the village to make friends and learn new things
(Or help out here and there), and to bring in my improved pipe weed Or other requests, dried mushrooms, rare herbs, etc

Feats so far

Many of us are not super front line fighters or anything

But gnomes can 1/day speak with burrowing mammals so I think it might make sense that the non-fighter and non-ranger/druids might have a combat trained animal (or even a riding dog/pony); such as badgers, foxes, mongooses, etc

Or even other non-combative creatures, rats, ferrets, etc

I am planning on inclusion in my gear selection

Your training as a barber includes various medical techniques.
Prerequisite: 5 ranks Profession (barber)

Since you are all 3rd level you can take any reasonable equipment to start and I am thinking of some house rules to keep the game focused less on mundane equipment and simplify the money system too. Unless you all want to play with all the bookkeeping enabled.

Sorry, got busy in real life again for a couple of days.

What I was thinking for the simplifying is to keep all money as gp and gems; so no need to keep track of sp, cp, and all of that. I don't think that it adds much to the game to finely detail the monetary system.

And to not keep track f non-magic ammo, equipment and spell components. I'd rather just charge something like 50gp per level after every trip into a dungeon or battle, and 10gp per level a day during travel. This can cover food, lodging, equipment replacement and repair.

Does that sound like a plan?
