CONSEQUENCES 1

Rasal, I'm going to rule that:

1. You and Victor got away with the loot. Great, your rebel hoard of loot has officially begun!

2. But first, it's time for the CONSEQUENCES phase...

(Roll... 5)

The noble whose hunting lodge you just raided is outraged, and he's put out a call for mercenaries to track you down and bring you to justice!

However... the reward isn't all THAT much. You just wiped out his secret loot nestegg.

3. At this point, two new rebels show up: Graithar, a shaman, and Lady Chessintra, a cleric. They've heard from the rebel underground about you, Rasal, and you're happy to welcome them on board.

4. Now the bad news: ONE mercenary has found The Sandstone!

He quietly slips in the secret entrance...

(Roll... 5)

He gets past the bramble cat... he doesn't kill it, and it doesn't kill him, but he gets past its lair, and it hides in a mini-thicket of thorns it's made, and starts licking its wounds... He drinks a big sip of an antidote potion he was prescient enough to bring along...

(Roll: 3)

But in the next room, the grabby vines steal his sword, yanking it out of his hands and up near the ceiling... And he doesn't have a ladder...

The lone mercenary has had enough. He suspected that this would turn out to be the rebel base, but he hasn't proven it, and this weird subterranean lair with its bramble cat and weird grabby vines is too frustrating for him. He leaves, before the vines try to take his torch, too.

Perhaps (when he's gotten his hands on a new sword, and maybe some allies (but that would split the reward), he'll be back. But for now, he gives up and leaves... before the rebels even know he was there.

Of course, later, they see that the poor bramble cat is injured (it'll be okay in a day or two), and that someone's sword was left behind in the vine room...

5. But for now, the threat is passed... and some new allies show up!

(Now that you've started your hoard, some smaller-than-you beings show up, looking to live here and help out for protection.

These are what the game calls "pixies," but they might not literally be pixies.

What are they?

You can pick from the examples given in the game's rules, or make up some pixies of your own!

Discuss in the OOC thread, and let me know what you decide!

CONSEQUENCES 1 and RECOVERY 1

5 (continued).  A large tribe of brownies shows up, and asks to live in The Sandstone in return from protection from those who work for Elziar, a senior wizard known to be on friendly terms with the Tyrant.

"Elziar has decided that we're 'subversive,'" says the leader of the brownies, a little fellow named Sidmar. "So we might as well stay here with you folks! We'll clean and polish and feed the bramble cat and anything you need! We'll even help defend this place if you just let us stay and hide here!"

It sounds perfect to the rebels, and they welcome the brownies on board.

(RECOVERY PHASE)

Rasal, if you'd taken any physical damage, it would start healing now... but you didn't.

Stress, on the other hand, is a whole other thing.

Your Revelry is Gambling.

Many of the brownies love to gamble!

Rasal, say what form your gambling with the brownies will take: playing cards? dice? beetle races? Something else?

CONSEQUENCES 1 and RECOVERY 1

Rasal is definitely a dice kind of guy.  And when he doesn't have an ulterior motive, he even refrains from using illusions to change which numbers are showing.

Rasal catches one clever-looking brownie rolling with his own slightly weighted dice.

Sidmar smacks the brownie in the head, confiscates the "funny" dice, swears up and down it'll never happen again, and then he bribes Rasal to please forget about this whole incident.

(Rasal has a good time gambling, and loses all his stress, and Sidmar also gives him a "lucky amulet." (The "lucky amulet" has one charge on it. The next time you're in big trouble, remind me you have it, if it seems like I need reminding.))
