Soon they were in the new building.

"There's external cameras, but if there are interior ones, they're shut down," Arachne reported.  "I'll let you know if reinforcements show up, though."

"Sounds good," Lovebird said looking around for an entrance that was high up.

Duckling took to the air to follow her.

Arachne's wheelchair unfolded, revealing metallic spidery legs that let her scale the building; Camille followed.

From the ground, Reynard groaned, then attempted to quickly scale the building after them.

Lovebird flew down to help Reynard out.

"...thank you," sighed Reynard.  "I need jet boots or something."

Soon they were in the rafters of the warehouse; below them, several suspicious looking people were talking, carrying large locked cases of some kind.

"So do we wait until they make the trade, or what?" Duckling whispered.

"Why?" said Camille.  "Once we see the artifacts, we can just go, can't we?"

"Yeah, that'd probably be best," Lovebird said. "Don't give them a chance to use them."

Duckling settled into the rafters, watching for the moment to go.

Two groups of people had gathered, and one was opening a series of cases.  Something golden shone inside them...

Lovebird shuffled around to get a good look.

Some kind of Egyptian artifacts, at a guess, kept in wood chips, but now shining in the light...

...wait, was that light getting brighter as they were handled?

"We'd better do it now," Lovebird said.

Duckling spread her wings, preparing to swoop down on the criminals.

Lovebird followed.

Someone saw, them, looked up, shouted a warning...

Duckling swooped down towrad one of the criminals holding one of the cases, taking a swing at him as she glid past.

One of the criminals went down!

Before the others could react, Camille had moved over them, and clouds of bats were distracting them ad obstructing their vision-- they fired back, but their shots went wild.  Reynard had jumped down into action as well, and was felling the criminals nearest the cages with some kind of long rod weapon.

Go, Lovebird!

Lovebird drew her bow and fired a boomerang arrow into the crowd of thugs.

Two thugs went down; more opened fire, but the bats still confused them.  Those shots were getting much closer, though-- a bullet nearly hit Duckling.  Reynard continued to down more of the criminals, but then a voice came from above.

"Heads up!" called Arachne.  "Reinforcements are on the way!  Better hurry it up!"

Duckling launched herself at the group again, this time trying to grab one of the briefcases and fly off with it.

The case was larger and heavier than a standard briefcase, but that was no problem for Duckling's great strength.

Except that something was wrong, and the jewelry was shaking, and throwing impossible amounts of weight around, and glowing  Something was very wrong...

Duckling was holding on to the crate, but only barely-- something was happening, and the chest wanted to careen out of control!

"Something's going on with the crates!" Duckling shouted. "Get them away from the crooks ASAP!"

The crooks, in fact, were already scattering-- but that wasn't stopping the items in the crates from glowing...

"Okay, um, what do we do now?" Lovebird asked as she went to secure another of the crates.

"Fight whatever's inside them?" Duckling suggested.

Suddenly, from the crates, two figures stood and rose up-- and grew!  One was a lion-headed man, and the other, a falcon-headed man.  Both wore distinctly ancient Egyptian clothing, and bore strangely-shaped swords.  Both glowed with golden light, and they just kept growing until they were a good thirty feet tall, breaking right through the roof of the warehouse!

"Oh, that is not good," Lovebird said, flying up after the statues.

"Dibs on the bird guy," Duckling said, following.

"...Okay, this was not the plan!" said Arachne, but she'd hopped onto the leg of the lion-figure as it burst through the building.  Camille had grabbed Reynard, and they were following the figure as well.

"Do we have a new plan?" she continued.

It may need to involve rolling for initiative, of course.

"Maybe they'll listen to reason?" Lovebird said.

"They seem pretty set on smashing buildings!" Arachne called.

"Of course," Lovebird said as she drew her sword and charged.

"Spider, fox, try hitting their hamstrings while the fliers hit them high," Duckling shouted. "Try and knock 'em over."

Arachne appeared to have moved to spinning some kind of web around the legs of the giant figure, which at least was slowing it down.  Duckling's attack left a mark, in the form of cracks, and it felt like she'd struck a block of sandstone.

Lovebird dove at one of the giants, trying to drive her sword in,

The sword struck a ringing blow-- but now the giant was striking back, swinging its strange sword in a vast, sweeping arc!

This is an Area Damage 10 effect; DC 25 Toughness save for both PCs, DC 20 Dodge save to reduce that damage save by 5

Lovebird just barely managed to dodge out of the way in time.

Lovebird pulled back and charged in again, driving her sword in as far as she could.

One figure staggered, but both lashed out with great force!  The figure Arachne was webbing broke free, but not before lurching to one side, giving Reynard a chance to jump up onto its head and strike it in the head repeatedly.  Camille was unleashing more bats, but then the gigantic weapons were unleashed again!

"...Can we trip them somehow?" Camille called.  "Like, push hard and pull below?"

"I'll try attacking it around the knees," Lovebird said.

"I'll hit 'em high," Duckling added.

"I've got up high," said Reynard.  "...because I'm already here."

"I'll get you down safely!" Camille called.

"All right, I'll trip 'em up," said Arachne.  "Give the command when you're ready!"

"Go!" Duckling said, and charged forward.

The figure went down with a crash, and did not arise!  Arachne moved quickly, spinning webs over the fallen figure while Camille pulled its weapon away from it.

"Should we try the same thing on the other one?" Lovebird asked.

"Works for me," Duckling said.

"All right, we're ready," said Reynard.  "Let's do this."

The giant's attack smashed Lovebird into the roof of the warehouse. She let out a weak groan from it and slowly tried to pick herself up.

Reynard was at her side.

"We can't give up yet," he said.  "We got one; we're so close!  Let's do this!"

Make a Recovery check, and then both of you go again!

Shaking it off, Lovebird went right back to a heavy swoop attack.

The strange creature groaned, fell, and then both began to slowly vanish in patterns of light!

...Not so slowly that the police weren't there to see it, though.  Or the press, apparently.

"This might be a problem," Lovebird said.

"Well, better than us just standing in a wrecked warehouse by ourselves," Duckling shot back.

"...So I think we kind of ought to talk to them," said Arachne.  "Two of us can't just fly away, y'know."

"We could probably carry both of you guys...but I guess you're right," Lovebird said.

"...Who wants to do the talking?" asked Reynard.  "I could, if you like."

"I'll do that then," Lovebird said, as she flew over to the reporters.

Yep, the press was reporting and had already started on a narrative.

"So the city was saved by these bold new heroes.  But who are they?  Oh, look-- one's approaching us now!"

"Hello there," Lovebird said.

Microphones were pointing in her direction.

"So, who are you?  What is your team?" asked the first.

"I'm Lovebird and my team is the Teen Brigade," Lovebird said.

There was a buzz of other questions, but the one that came clearest was "Who are the rest of you?"

"The other girl with wings is Ugly Duckling, the last girl is Arachne and the guy is Reynard," Lovebird said.

"So do you have a statement for the community?" asked a reporter.  "...or for criminals?"

"We're here to help and make this city safer," Lovebird said. "If you are out to harm people, you will be stopped."

"Hardcore," Duckling added, cracking her knuckles, then wincing over her broken pinkie.

"...and on that note, why don't we take our leave and discuss our next move?" asked Reynard.

"Good idea," Lovebird said, taking off.

"Yup," Duckling said, following her.  It occurred to her that one of them should have offered to carry one of the non-flyers, but whatever.

"Hey!  Wait for us!" called Camille.  She did something, and bats appeared to be carrying the others up into the air, albeit slowly.

Lovebird swooped down to pick up Renard.

"Thank you," said Reynard.  "That was awkward... so, where to from here?"

"I don't know? Back to base?" Lovebird asked.

"You mean the warehouse we met in?  With that Blue Mask guy?" asked Camille.

"Yep, that," Lovebird said.
