player, 4 posts Tue 10 Mar 2020 at 11:53 | How did the party meet?Doesn't bother me, sure; though I would like to have some reason to actually want to work with you all.
Did anyone list me in their Relationships? Bit of background about Greyband:
Greyband does not disclose his homeland; it's apparent from his accent and bearing that he has traveled far. A man in his early thirties, he has gained some renown as a traveling companion and healer, though his reputation as a back-up man in a knife-fight is solid as well. He claims to be a druid, though few have seen him in the wild.

Blackfoot
player, 17 posts Tue 10 Mar 2020 at 12:28 | How did the party meet?I'm happy to have a pre-existing connection, Greyband. Blackfoot was a solider, who left under questionable circumstances and then found work as a smith ... most of it shady. It's certainly plausible that you might have backed Blackfoot up in a delivery gone sour, or a turf war or some such?

Oh ok, I'd gotten the impression you stayed with the company smith, not that you left. I wanted to suggest some sort of joint disobedience resulting in banishment.
Greyband: Before being enlisted, Vider traveled the lands. Did he travel with Greyband?

He stayed with them, for a while, but eventually kicked out. Happy to work on some joint disobdience ;)

player, 5 posts Tue 10 Mar 2020 at 14:28 | Re: How did the party meet?Vider, that does sound like it happened: Vider and Greyband traveled for a few years together, seeing various lands. What do you think?
Blackfoot, how about this: Blackfoot hired Greyband as support him on his last trip, and both were captured by the authorities. Greyband was caught a bit off-guard by this, as he wasn't quite clear that things were quite as illegal as they were. What do you think?

Totally in line with the games theme, from the rulebook "In this tabletop roleplaying game, you are not heroes sent on missions dictated by others – instead, you are raiders and rogues bent on making your own mark on a cursed world."

I'm thinking that the group is pulled from the jails and "banished" to the Forbidden Lands, but in actuality have been conscripted by some local lord for a task in Ravenland, hand picked for your particular skills and talents, in exchange you are allowed to keep your gear and any mounts, and if completed to the lords satisfaction would be allowed to return south, if you want too that is. Something like that, don't have it 100% worked out in my head.

Vergello
player, 3 posts Wed 11 Mar 2020 at 00:18 | Re: How did the party meet?Vergello is a little bit wilder. He grew up in an Elvish village deep within a forest and spent his early years learning more about the natural world before setting out on his own in his thirties. He has since spent most of his life traveling from one part of the world to the other with his faithful horse, Heliende. He has made his way through villages to sell the various items he has collected along the way but has spent more time out in the wild than in civilization.
My thinking is that he most likely wound up imprisoned after a potential sale turned violent when the human tried to cheat Vergello out of his wares and then accused the 'drifter Elf' of attempting to rob him.
He is 100 years old and has seen the good and bad of many of the Kin buuuuuuuut that kinda hit him a bit harder and he's still a bit sore at Humans over that mistreatment (he might be a bit terse with Blackfoot, Greyband, and Vider for a bit but after some time he'll come around).

Would it be too disruptive to have Blackfoot know of the other party in the transaction? Opportunity to be torn between knowing those in question to be a rogue and a knave, and bound to stick up for them to a degree?

I'm fine with whatever backstory you all work up! My main focus is to ensure that the events going forward are smooth and orderly, and provide fun stuff to kill and exciting treasures to find! Got one more character sheet to still be done and then hopefully we'll get this thing off and running!
