Re: (OOC) General Discussion 2

I am already super pumped and excited. Talking with you all in PMs and getting things figured out is fun. Glad we have everyone back. This is a good group. Thanks for understanding my need to take time off.

Re: (OOC) General Discussion 2

Yah, let's not get into a Deck of Many things.  I'm too chicken to use it anyways ha ha.

As for the loot split proposed by the DM, I'm good with it.

Re: (OOC) General Discussion 2

Alright so I've decided to keep Alekos after all. Mostly rogue still but he's going through some slight shifts.

As for the loot split it looks good to me. And as much fun as a deck of many things could be... Well actually hmm... No, no. Dm said no... But maybe. No okay anyway.

Also Bossman, you made note that chapter 4 would be starting but we've only got through chapter 2 (scene 3).

I'm okay with having a lost chapter. It bookends the jump nicely and possibly leaves room for us to make 'call backs' to things that didn't necessarily happen. Idk. But I thought I'd mention it.

Ok working on my update for Gryphon and new weapon instead of signature. Are we still level 4 after the Hags or was there enough exp gain to hit level 5.

I will also start a Pm with Gm about changes etc.

Re: (OOC) General Discussion 2

OPk guys am working with the DM to make a replacement for Gryphon, he would be from the same brotherhood as him so an easy swap out.

He will still be a Gloomstlaker ranger but some other twists will be in store for you to discover,

Re: (OOC) General Discussion 2

Sora is now a Black dragonborn Cleric. Since we know each other well here is a rundown of her.

On another continent far away is a city known as Sverdkyst. This place is renown for having Deagonborn and lizardfolk as the majority. You know Sora is from a isolated clanto the north of the city, and her family are not very nice people.

She escaped them because her heart was different, and though she was good, her black skin marked her as an outsider, even yo her own kind.

She traveled to this continent escaping the stigma of her kin, but she was always seen as someone distrusted. She was alone for a time, and it was then that she found the faith of Osirus.

Sora is a quiet dragonborn, often cloaked in her hooded grey robe of excellent quality, and her only visible weapons are a staff and dagger. Though she can be stand offish around new people, with her friends she is more open, kind and caring.

Her outlook is yo help those she can heal, and those she can't, helps usher them to death without pain and fear.

She hates undead and seeks to destroy them  (Anders...I'm aware your a necromancer. Maybe him and sora have theological discussions on this. She dislikes the use of undead but if he utilises them she will grudgingly tolerate it for a time.)

Re: (OOC) General Discussion 2

So has Neo-Sora been with us this whole time and we're reconning her into the group or is she a post hags recruit?

I'm good either way just want to know which way to spin it when it comes to role-play.

Re: (OOC) General Discussion 2

I think it will be post-Hag.  Maybe the Old Sora stayed in town, got a job in the magic shop and decided a normal life was needed for her.

New Sora is a wanderer out of necessity. Born an outsider, she uses her skills as a healer

Sora:
On another continent far away is a city known as Sverdkyst.

Not to embarrass Sora, but I felt it necessary to correct this lore error as not to confuse anyone. I will also add this to the lore thread.

Sverdkyst is the Republic and lands that the story is currently in and not a City. Sora is coming from Lands far North of Sverkyst that is called the Giant Lands, also still on the same continent, where Giants have carved out tribes and kingdoms of their own. After the Fall of the great Lizardfolk empire. In the Maps thread I there is a map of this for reference.

This Northern land is treacherous, wild, and untamed. No "civilized" people live in these lands. There are small villages and towns that live day to day in fear of the monsters that surround them. A town may exist for months, along a significant merchant route, and then Poof it's gone from monsters destroying it.

Re: (OOC) General Discussion 2

Hi all I will be playing Khaaven a male half elf Ranger Bounty Hunter. He is in the same Brotherhood as gryphon and will be taking his place, keeping the same magic items that were earned and his division.

Khaaven has the reputation as being an expert with Thieves tools particularly as it apples to setting up traps and nasty surprises for the enemy.

I will be finishing him up later tonight and tomorrow morning. Looking forward to meeting up with everyone Ic once again.

Re: (OOC) General Discussion 2

Where to go next!?

From the Caves of chaos you learned;

1. The Demonologist isn’t the leader he is but a pawn. He (the tortle mentor) had been able to overhear voices. One had an accent from the southern Per-Atum Empire. Something about a lost city in the Sea of Sand. The second voice was from someone North in the Giant Lands. it was a Fire Giant accent.

2. They mean to create an elixir of life and become Gods overthrowing the current ones. The demons have promised them power and immortality.

3. From his discovery, the Tortles and Lizardfolk were allies before and during the second planes war. They had discovered the secret to the elixir of life, the Lizardfolk wanted to use it and Bring back the ancient God Lang Wang. The Tortles disagreed with them, which lead to the falling out of the two races.

From the Demonologist's writings you learned;

Letters from three different people. Written in the same old version of Common, they talk of finding a relic, The Book of Dead, of lost power in a lost city in a sea of sand, Hamunaptra. The second correspondence discusses a forge greater than any to craft the Rod of Mictlantecuhtli. The third talks of a triumph and discovery of the Book of Amun-Ra.

***

This leads us to two direct adventure paths;

1. Go to Per-atum in the quest for the lost city in the Sea of Sands.

2. Go North looking for a Fire Giant tribe involved with the cultists.

3. Anything you want and would like to do.

4. Go back into the caves of Chaos, uncover more treasure, kill more monsters, and learn more about the ancient civilization that once ruled here.

In reply to Dungeon Master (msg # 237):

My vote would be the Fire Giant tribe.  They might be able to more nail down the location of the lost city, and theoretically we would have a better chance knowing what we were getting into with fire giants.

The lost city could have anything.

But I'm good with anything.

Re: (OOC) General Discussion 2

Book of the DEAD, you say?? Hamunaptra, you say? "Hey Benny! Looks like you're on the wrong side of the river!"

I'm fine with either, though the lost city is more interesting to Anders. He is willing to go to the Fire Giants first, especially if that may give them more information/direction for the lost city.

You have no idea how happy it makes me to know you love the mummy movies as much as I do!

I think WOTC is missing a great campaign adventure. By not doing something related to mummies, deserts, and pyramids.

They did the chult! Why not Egyptian!

I can even hear the sing-songy way Brendon Frasier said it in the movie.  I saw the 1st two but never did see the 3rd one.

I did watch the Scorpion king one though too.
