Re: State of Affairs

Ok,

Checking in.

Things are busy at work, which is what is giving me the most issues with time.

I am now saddled with having to comply with legal requirements at the office, which is something I've never done before, so it will be an interesting learning time for me.

I need to get back into the posts and continue the story.

Let me see what I can do between today and tomorrow.

How's everyone doing?

Re: State of Affairs

Surgery is scheduled for the 17th.  Will be on leave from work while I recover because I'm not supposed to sit still for long periods of time during recovery.

Re: State of Affairs

I would normally wish you luck for that, but I'll do one better: I will simply hold the thought that it all already went well, and assume you are going to be simply fine.

So, what are your plans post-surgery? =)

Keep us posted. =D

Re: State of Affairs

Post-surgery, continue the weight loss until I reach my goal.  Return to being ridiculously healthy for my age.  Continue with the home remodeling as money allows.

Re: State of Affairs

Good to have a chance to remodel. =)

I live in an apartment, so my remodeling is usually small. But a few years ago I installed a ceiling fan in and my manager didn't seem to mind. I guess I improved the property.

Hanging in.  Pre-testing on Monday, surgery upcoming on the 17th.  Might even get close enough to done with the remodel.

Re: State of Affairs

Hey folks,

Touching base.

Got one more event coming in. I thought I'd be clear by now, but things are just piling up.

I didn't get to post as I was aiming.

Let me see if I can just do more frequent but smaller posts. Won't take that much time then.

Re: State of Affairs

I've had two of those.

I usually joked with the doctor about not having at least bought me dinner before the "date".

That got a chuckle or two. xD

Re: State of Affairs

Yeah, for me it's a bit different.  Don't talk much and try to pretend it's not happening.  Of course, I'm not really sure how the exams will go for follow up after the system gets yanked in a week (yes, it's a complete hysterectomy + bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy and sentinel lymph nodes ... which sounds pretty darn scary, but better than the alternative).

Re: State of Affairs

Oh, that sucks. Full hysterectomy.

It will be fine. It's a common enough procedure, fortunately.

I've known a few ladies in my life who had to have that done. Some replacement hormones and a new wax and shine, and things were fine afterwards.

Re: State of Affairs

Probably can't do HRT (oral contraceptives were a no-go because they were a migraine trigger), but I'm post-menopausal anyway, so probably not really needed.  At least, the oncologist is the same one who treated my aunt (who is now a 5 year survivor), so I have that piece of encouragement to work with.  If the pathology shows that it was all contained and I don't need chemo/radiation after, I'll be able to do my follow-ups with the local gyn rather than the oncologist in the city an hour and a half drive away.

My wife had one about 15 years ago, maybe longer. Sex became painful so that ended about 8 years ago. Good thing I love her! ;-) Good luck, you'll be fine!

Re: State of Affairs

Went through the pre-procedure tests yesterday.  So, through at least Friday, if there's movement, feel free to NPC Aila, who will be waiting for an opening to resume combat (with the quarterstaff) or if we get rid of all the skeletons, back to taking point as we move forward.

Everything will be good.  =D

On this side I am picking up some time as well.

My plan to post small updates has not come through, but I think the pressures are coming to an end.

I am aiming to have a new post tomorrow Friday or Saturday.

I'll keep you "posted". =)

Re: State of Affairs

Ok...

Despite my intentions, it seems that I find myself not separating enough time to get things done here. All my other game participations are also equally collapsing, with my posts being only a few lines long and getting them out of the way quickly perhaps once a week.

I think I need to be honest and put this game on hiatus for a while.

Any thoughts?

Re: State of Affairs

Hiatus is definitely better than dropping the game.  My vote would be a reboot in September :)

Have a great summer guys, get out there before the next pandemic hits!!  :lol .. or is it?

Re: State of Affairs

I'd also prefer hiatus.

I'm on the other side of the surgery now, just in recovery with my post op visit on the 29th (which is when I'll learn about the pathology report).  Because you probably couldn't live with the suspense until September (Labor Day?).
