Bristle Chonk:
Alright, I was running through the math, and it is NOT worth the time for Bristle to craft gems for a day. 5-10 gp worth of onyx gems would not be a wise use of her time right now. Instead she will merely try and purchase up to 725 gp-worth of onyx gems (725), try and get her armor and shield enchanted to +1 for 1000 gp each (2000), and buy a ring of protection +1 (2000) and Boots of the Cat (1000). For a grand total of 5725 gp, before haggling.
And to reply to Sebastian's post, Bristle has a +7 to her Diplomacy (+9 if it makes sense to cast Enhanced Diplomacy on herself first). She will try to gather some info while she shops, now that she isn't going to be spending all her time trying to make gems. Especially if her companions can point her toward the best people to talk to.
IC post coming shortly.
Roll to try and haggle those prices down:
21:55, Today: Bristle Chonk rolled 11 using 1d20+9. Haggle with Enhanced Diplomacy.
Even worse than before. Or should I try to make a separate roll for each item?
Would Bristle be able to find everything she is looking for, and be able to get her armor enchanted in a single day? (it usually takes 8 hours/1 day's work per 1000 gp in the cost, and she is providing the base masterwork armor.) I think I will hold off on buying the boots for now, in case they need the cash, but it would still be nice to know if she could pick them up later.
