Bristle Chonk:
Sebastian, despite being a cleric of death, Bristle is also skilled at the Heal skill. Maybe they have a history there? She would also not necessarily be a stranger to the "bad" parts of cities.

Certainly possible. How long ago would we have known one another? Sebastian has had some ahh.. significant life changes in recent times that caused him to abandon his old life and go adventuring.

In reply to Sebastian Kosmin (msg # 183):

Yup. That just happened. Sebastian talking about a woman with red hair whispering in his dreams, and a red haired woman walks up behind him. lol The sad irony of that...

I see I've missed out on a bit of the fun. Hello new people, I'm playing Caleb. I look forward to gaming with you all.

Hester and Caleb, you guys okay to split our supply money evenly? That would be 2625.333 gp apiece.

I'm down for a fair split, yeah.

They could have probably met at any time within the last 8-10 years. Maybe at some sort of medical/detective lecture involving cadavers?

Re: OOC

A very silly mechanics question, but by average HP do you mean like d10/2 = 5? Just want to make sure while I'm finishing up my character sheet.

Edit: Oh, and starting gold.

In reply to Voh'ren Wildheart (msg # 188):

The average of 1d10 is 5.5, so normally average means you round up to 6.
As for starting gold, the WBL for a level seven PC is 23,500

In reply to Voh'ren Wildheart (msg # 188):

If you are using HeroLab it does have a feature that will figure average hit point's per level for you. Otherwise as far as I know the normal accepted way to get the average is take the highest possible roll on your hit die, add 1 to it, then divide by 2.

Starting gold for 7th.

Re: OOC

Huh, I always play average is alternating high and low. So if you have a d10, you do 5 one level, 6 the next, back and forth. That's how I did HP for Sebastian. If you just take the higher value (all 6), that's an extra few HP.

Re: OOC

So the way I handle average is more or less what Sebastian said. So for example, a d10 die gets 5 at one level and 6 at the next.

Okay, I THINK I finished my character sheet. I don't have Heroforge for it, so I have to do this with pdfs and a calculator. Let me know if I messed up somewhere.

Oops. I guess I calculated incorrectly too. Turns out I never updated my biography info when I leveled up either. Both are fixed now.

Re: OOC

They have a day or two, correct? Bristle plans to make some onyx gems and search for magic items that are around 4000 gp. Mostly wondrous items or rings or armors/shields that would be an improvement.

Cool. It's a pretty busy market, so you can probably find any items in that price range you're looking for unless they're particularly obscure or illegal.

I think I'm good to move forward. I'll probably stay on the outskirts of town unless the inn is fine with having a wolf around. :-p

Sebastian wants to gather information, although he's not very good at it (+2 on diplomacy, although I get to add inspiration die for free, so add another +1d8).

Re: OOC

Alright, I was running through the math, and it is NOT worth the time for Bristle to craft gems for a day. 5-10 gp worth of onyx gems would not be a wise use of her time right now. Instead she will merely try and purchase up to 725 gp-worth of onyx gems (725), try and get her armor and shield enchanted to +1 for 1000 gp each (2000), and buy a ring of protection +1 (2000) and Boots of the Cat (1000). For a grand total of 5725 gp, before haggling.

And to reply to Sebastian's post, Bristle has a +7 to her Diplomacy (+9 if it makes sense to cast Enhanced Diplomacy on herself first). She will try to gather some info while she shops, now that she isn't going to be spending all her time trying to make gems. Especially if her companions can point her toward the best people to talk to.

IC post coming shortly.

Roll to try and haggle those prices down:
21:55, Today: Bristle Chonk rolled 11 using 1d20+9.  Haggle with Enhanced Diplomacy.
Even worse than before. Or should I try to make a separate roll for each item?

Would Bristle be able to find everything she is looking for, and be able to get her armor enchanted in a single day? (it usually takes 8 hours/1 day's work per 1000 gp in the cost, and she is providing the base masterwork armor.) I think I will hold off on buying the boots for now, in case they need the cash, but it would still be nice to know if she could pick them up later.
