Tyranny of Dragons: Episode 1: Greenest in Flames
Looking herself over, she shook her head. "No, I will remain with your group if that is okay with you." Realizing she knew none of them except for their fighting ability, she introduced herself, "I am Careena. I am here to aid a friend in Greenest that sent for me. Looks like I've gotten to the right place."

"Hmm?" Mack stops confused. Banelin said to move now, but Aglar is saying to wait. Don't they need to be protecting Greenest?

After a moment, Mack decides he must be missing something. Oh well. If they're going to wait, then Mack can perform in the meantime! This group doesn't look like they need comforting magic much, but he's still more used to regular music anyway.

"Hi Careena. Me Mack. While wait I make music!" He proudly shows off his flute while enthusiastically rocking on his feet. The ribbons braided into his fur bounce along, remarkably unmarred by the gory violence he perpetrated earlier.

While the group waits for Banelin to return, Gorn checks the bodies of the dead and then scouts around the area.

Newman got a few more steps before he realized Mack had stopped so he did too.  The offer of music however made him frown.  He stepped up to Mack and tapped the bugbear on the shoulder.  "Hey,"  He pointed towards the keep.  "They said to be quiet.  Music will just make noise."

Almost as if to reinforce the warforged point, there is a rustle in the bushes near the clearing shortly after Mack begins to play. A young person appearing somewhat life an adventurer, brings themselves out of the brush, joined by five villagers.

Ears of the villagers perk at the fading music, "Is...it over? Can we go home?"

Banelin arrives back from his delivery and then looks surprised at the arrival of 6 strangers,"Now what's going on over here, none of you look like cultists and don't appear to be hostile. I assume your the few survivors in this bloody raid, hmm." he says, pulling out his axe just in case.

The warforged's face reconfigured to a sort of scowl as he warily watched the newcomers his heavy maul in his hands.  However after a bit he decided they LOOKED like they were villagers probably... At least there were no kobolds with them.  He relaxed and gave them a wave and his facial features reconfigured to a wide grin.  "Hello!"

Not one to capitalize on another's misfortune, Gorn walks over to the villagers and hands them the bag of items that he had found amongst the bodies. "Not sure if any of this belongs to any of you but please take these items back to the village with you and see if you can find the rightful owner. Then reaching into his pouch he removed the 35 gold pieces that had been on the bodies of the cultists and hands them to the villages as well. This might help restore things as well. All I ask is that you share them with any of need."

The villagers look over the items in awe, and then to the money. "Thank you, so very much, indeed it will?"

One of the older men steps forward, "So, is it over?"

As if on queue to answer, there is a roar in the night sky, and lightning forks across the non-stormy darkening sky.

The villagers huddle together near the young adventurer looking individual that had accompanied them. "For the love of Chauntea!"

One of the people from the villagers comes forward. This woman stood out from the others.

The young woman was a stark contrast of the others. Starting 5 foot 10, her frame was lean to the point of being slight in frame. Her hair, bright pink, tousled and down just past her shoulders, her green eyes looked around and her face is one of the excitement. Her youthful look and slightly pointed ears hint at her half elven heritage.

Her armor, a dark grey with black studs was well worn and clean. At her side, a rapier sat comfortably and the opposite hip a dagger. On her back, a pack holding various items, including a light crossbow and the case of some musical instrument.  "Hi...."

She was about to continue when the roar occurred, causing her smile to fade. "Wow....that's loud. I'm guessing not a friend of yours?"

Gorn shakes his head in answer to the older man. "That probably answers your question." as he noticed the young woman who had stepped forward. "No, definitely not a friend of ours. May I ask where you are coming from?" as he scanned the sky for any sign of danger.

The woman smiled at the ranger."Oh....hi. I'm Lyryian. I'm a traveling minstrel and came here looking for my next big story or song." She looked to the sky with a shrug. "...wasn't expecting that big, but hey. "

She looked like she had a sudden idea with a smile. "I know! I'll come with you...share adventure, spoils and tales. I can even help you....I'm pretty handy" She nods her head.

"....so, what are you doing?"

"Well, currently our job is to help escort the villagers back in the keep, protect a mill and also the church of Chauntea. Oh, by the way, the entrance to the keep is by that over their." Banelin points to the sewer tunnel and eyes one of the villagers that swore to Chauntea,"Oi, have any of you've been on the church, what's the situation currently."

The villager looked abashedly to the ground, "I'll admit that I ain't been as often as I should. Matter of fact, today was service, so there are probably several people there. An' most certainly Eadyan, he's the preacher."

The others shifted on their feet uncomfortably suddenly realizing that perhaps they were in this situation because they too were not at the evening worship.

Lisica steps forward and nods to Banelin, "I'll escort this lot back to the keep this time? Since we seem to be picking up allies on the way," she nods to Lyryian, "I'll stay behind and help ward off raiders that may break through the barrier again."

Lisica will respond if questioned guys, but remember I'm posting for her to temporarily write Lisica out of the campaign. Her departure won't be up for debate IC because of that.

"Job to defend Greenest! Church part of town!" Mack proclaims before setting out. He feels very proud of how much his rule is helping him make decisions today. Should he make other rules too? Maybe he'll try after Greenest stops needing protection so much.

"Okay bye, Lisica."  The warforged continued to grin as he turned to inspect their new member.  After a moment he shrugged.  "You have nice hair.  Let's go!"  And with that he took position next to Mack in the front of the group as they set back out on their mission...

Still not sure what to make of this group she had just encountered, she was a bit taken by the new female that had joined the group. She admired that she had stayed with the villagers and kept them safe. Now that she was joining this group hopefully she would provide more strength as they tried to help the village rid itself of the scourge of this Queen of the Dragons.

Glancing around she found the one they called Gorn and fell in next to him. "We've not really met, I'm Careena." as she smiled hoping she could make a new friend. "How long have you been with this group?"

"Well met," acknowledging her greeting. "I'm Gorn. Circumstances seem to have brought this group together on the other side of Greenest over the last couple of days." as his eyes scanned the skies and obvious concern on his mind after the sounds they had just heard. "I'm curious what was that thing you did with your hands earlier?"

Careena smiled, she like talking about her parents. "It was one of the first spells my parents taught me. They called it 'Eldritch Blast'. It was so I could protect myself if I could just keep or get my hands free."

Lisica settles the villagers found down from the roaring of the dragon in the distance, and quickly settles them in a line to guide through the old tunnel and back up to the keep. She gives the party a sad wave of farewell before ducking herself into the tunnel and vanishing from sight.
