Aspects are infinite. They can be anything, quite literally.

Aspects can be pushed by the player in scenes to gain bonuses (at the expense of fate) or pulled by the GM to create conflict. If pulled by the GM the player gains a Fate point. However, a person could spend a fate point to deny the pull.

Example:

Darrin is a Knight of the Cross. After Michael Carpenter and Shiro Yoshimo are unable to serve, Darrin of unknown origin has the Aspect, "I am where I am needed." and one day became the new wielder of Amoracchius through a series of (un)fortunate events.

Darrin, while patrolling his city, happens to notice Red Court attacking a human with intent to feed. Darrin immediately attacks the Red Court Vampires. He has a Force of 5 but really wants to "show out." He invokes "I am where I am needed." The GM agrees intervening is an appropriate display of this Aspect. This gives him a +2 to the roll for a total of +7 before any stunts or die roll are added.

Next Scene, GM states that Darrin will appear (Darrin gets to describe how) in a Black Court Den due to "I am where I am needed" but Darrin will receive 1 Fate point for the GM pull.

Darrin weighs his options as his stunts are depleted but he only has 1 fate point left. Spending it will prevent him from appearing the Black Court Den but leave him with 0 Fate left. Agreeing will put him in harm's way but gain him an extra fate to spend on his aspects or stunts (That require them).

Next scene, 3 of the players are engaged in deadly combat in North Chicago. Darrin and a companion are in South Chicago when they get word of the scuffle. Now that Darrin is free, he invokes "I am where I am needed" to arrive in the melee.



As you can see, there are MANY uses of Aspects. Creativity is what matters most in how to use them.
