General Text
Anything that doesn't fall into one of the below is this type

"Speech"
What your character directly says (words that are actually spoken)
Example:
"I am a Pineapple" Me'sha exclaimed

'Thoughts'
What your character directly thinks, Basically they are like words that are actually spoken but only in the confines of the character's mind.

You may pick your own colour, Because of the various colour schemes available, RPoL only allows the colours listed. When a person views a message with the colourized text, the colours will be appropriately lightened or darkened depending upon their colour scheme. However, I do advise against using Pink or yellow. Do not use Orange.

[OOC: Explanatory text here]

OOC text such as questions and other chit chat should be in the General chatter thread or Discord. The Square Brackets coloured Orange and clearly labelled OOC is for clarification of actions, Noting Dice rolls or Mechanical Effects (aura, buffs, debuffs) and may appear at the end of your post in a Story thread, Sometimes you may want to put them as a private line to the GM, you may do this.

Languages

While you can just say what language your character is speaking, you can also use a private to group line such as:

[Language Druidic: Stay off the grass] will result in:

[Language unknown: Pl ter ion neheer] For people who can't speak/read Druidic

By putting text in curly brackets one can have it remain unscrambled

[Language Druidic: Hey! {Steve!} Stay off the grass!] will result in:

[Language unknown: Lat! chlaai!na Oer athis has ivhith!]

Images

Images require a valid web address (or URL) to locate the picture to which they are pointing.  This means the image must be hosted somewhere online for RPoL to be able to find it and display it in a thread.

Images use the image tag (<img>).  This tag has no closer.  Within the tag, the address of the image is supplied using the source attribute (src=""); the address of the image goes inside the quotation marks.

Example:
<img src="http://beta.rpol.net/images/banner-light-beta.gif">

Yields:

The image tag will also accept the alignment attribute to move an image to the left or right side of the post (the code would look like this: <img src="http://beta.rpol.net/images/banner-light-beta.gif" align="right">).  Note that vertical alignment options are not possible in RuBB code at this time, nor are other HTML image attributes available.
