Clip was presented as infected.  He's only just now been diagnosed. ;-)

Huh. Who knew that "The Unfortunate Lad" was written with Clip in mind?

Re: OOC

quote:
I am using italicised text within tildes (~) to denote Kethryl's thoughts; these things are not being said out loud.

It is sometimes frowned upon on RPOL, but I liken it to the banter around the table at an in-person game where the players let the other players know what they think. I can stop if it bothers anyone.

Personally, I like having access to some of the characters' thoughts.  It gives the other players and DM the sort of insights that the reader of a story would be privy to.

My only suggestion would be to keep the italics and ~s, but use a different color for thoughts.  I know the DM does not use color, but for those of us who do, using the same color can get confusing.

Yeah, hold onto that thought, some of Clip's thoughts will be deleted immediately.

Re: OOC

With respect to thoughts, I'm fine with them being included with a few caveats:

1.  Don't be a taciturn bump on a log who replies with a grunt while spinning an elaborate post that is 90% thoughts.

2.  Don't insult someone in thoughts while being all sweetness and light in speech, then claim innocence because "I only thought that, I didn't say that".

3.  Above all, do not say one thing, then send thoughts in a PL to me that completely contradict what the character is saying.

To be clear, I don't think that anyone here would commit one of those three "sins" when including thoughts, but I have encountered instances of each in the past.

Re: OOC

I'm a little confused.

Let's say The Queen shows us her new baby.  You don't want our characters telling the queen "Oh what a charming little delight.  She has your cute little nose." and thinking ~I have never seen an uglier, pig-nosed baby in my life~?

That seems like something Risa would certainly do.

Re: OOC

Let's just say that such a dichotomy would probably carry over in tone or posture.  But the specific instance that I was recalling, the "sweetness and light" was with respect to other PCs.

Re: OOC

I haven't stated a day of week/month of year.  The information that you have is that the weather is consistent with sometime in Aniel (the second month of the year, year begins with spring equinox)

Pity they don't have the press yet. A newspaper would tell us everything. Maybe there's a town crier?

Re: OOC

No--though not sure what knowing the date would do to change your actions.

Will you want to go up to the room to stow stuff before visiting Foswel or any other points around Dolmor?

Re: OOC

Well, surprisingly, Myron hasn't been in since Monday.  I don't know if that means the computer did die.  So, anyone else who went in to the leather shop is welcome to speak up, and if there's no further activity, I can get you en route to Foswel's.

Re: OOC

Me too, I suspect, given what Myron relayed to me about his problem with the p.c. that it's got some boot sector corruption or maybe mechanical damage. Fairly easy fix on the one hand but losing data is no joke.

Re: OOC

Clip originally wanted to see the Druid as well but it looked like everyone headed out to sell pelts despite a certain disdain for the mercantile aspect of our little drama. If Risa is headed out to see the Druid, Clip would be most interested in hearing what he had to say and tag along.

I hosed Winblows 10, my computer guy is running a diagnostic and transferring files from a failed drive. He'll be taking the computer with him tonight when he comes back and hopefully repairing it.

I will be back don't worry. A day or two maybe.

Re: OOC

Good news, I heard from MJ, she's still out of things but they have determined that it's nothing serious or life-threatening. She seems in good spirits and positive, a huge relief to her on-line friends. Looks like she's feeling better so maybe she will be up for a return soon. Keep her in thoughts in prayers, she has had a couple health scares the last few years.
