You see? I'm a GOOD illusionist. But, unlike many of my kin, I'm not dim enough to rob the DM.

I've been thinking.  What if we actually did save the day, but the villain(s) put us in a time loop hoping that we'd screw it up the second time?  That seems more likely to me for two reasons.  First off, it is so like a villain to do that.  Secondly, I really don't see us failing to save the day.

That said, I'm confident we'll save the day again this time.  We just have to make sure the villain(s) can't time loop us again this time.
