Mikhail Loren:
Possibly, though isn't that kind of your thing, Richard? Convincing people?
This.
I somehow often have the feeling not everything is there for everybody to read. When Richard goes off and suddenly returns with Gemma in tow for example.
Separate threads, private links, private messages, secret messages all kind of make sense as other characters may not be present. But it is a p.i.t.a. for anybody to follow if the absent character does not truly share his findings. I, for one, am rather confused where the hell Gemma came from. She is just introduced out of a sudden, a name, is all.
It is nice of Richard to take the initiative and forge ahead but the rest of us have no idea whether there has been no post or whether it's been secret. So I wait, then everybody waits, the game stalls, no one but GM and the character in question notice any progress. Worst case: one believes the game has died and does no longer observe as there is no noticeable progress.
I personally do no longer use private posts exactly for those reasons.
Well, that's what I meant by 'doing your thing'. It has zilch to do with any confidence or trust but simply with not knowing
at all whether you are actively posting or whether you fell in a RL hole (like I just did).
So, as for the current situation there's this undefined "we should do something else" but without clear idea what or who. And we do neither discuss this in IC (preferable) or OOC. So we hang there and the game stalls. Have not read anything from Loran, busy RL, I know. Still: what do we
do? Just for progress' sake I suggest to attack. I have no better idea myself either. There's been suggestions, I am not opposed to these ideas... someone has to do it, though. And talking is likely to be Richard's thing:D
EDIT
One suggestion was to send Perth as representative of the Arl looking for a thief. That, however, dumps action, initiative and responsibility to the GM and thus is to be evaded if possible as we are not reading a book but playing the book as main characters
