Re: Open Chat
Hi everyone, now that we are in our first combat we can weed through some rules and figure out some things.
So the different versions of D&D have many ways to handle movement, since I am not a map person for combat I like to keep things simple.
I never saw combat as standing on a 5ft square and going at it. If your thinking 3.5 D&D with 5ft shifts that's out in this game.
This doesn't mean you can just Move about and do what every you like, but if you want to tumble and leap or jump in your description that's fine as long as you understand it has no game mechanic effects.
For example the Salochin moved 20 ft and attacked, this is ok.
One goblin moved and change his target from Darimillian to Feanor who was within 20 ft and attacked, this is also ok.
Darimillian withdrawal and added 10 ft so if any goblin next round would want to attack him in melee they would have to move only and next round attack.
Since Darimillian is no longer threaten he can hide or seek cover.
Vatinius is also not in melee so he can hide and also seek cover.
Both Vatinius & Salochin still have one more round before they can attack the Goblins with the shortbows, that means in round 3 they can move the last 10ft and attack in melee at any point they can attack with missile and keep closing the gap. Keep in mind so can the goblins.
I guess the best way to say this is, you can move up to your movement once, at almost any point during a fight if the area allows it.
