Deleted scenes/the Snyder Cut
Hi everybody! Thanks for playing, here are a couple wrap up thoughts and/or director's cut deleted scenes...
Deleted scenes:
Vorrik's betrayal?
While I brought him in mainly for comic relief, I was nursing the idea for a while that Vorrik wasn't a fool but a free agent kind of mastermind, and that he never really received a vision, which was intended for a recipient of the great tribes and maybe some minor tribes, but he instead knocked off a unicorn/zebra/something rider and had his own goal for the treasure. I vaguely dropped a few hints and my idea was that every time he was talking to birds he was sending communiques to some other sun domers who would arrive for the third act confrontation. When we had another player come and take over Vorrik for a little while, I abandoned that, and ditched it for good when I realized that the 2 year time gap was already stretching credulity that Thangar was so supportive (partly as a callout to Thangar's original player) and the idea that Vorrik was messaging his kin and they'd wait around for him for 2 years when survival was the main priority seemed to go too far. So, Vorrik was a faithful companion to the end.
That cavern with the scale:
You guys honed in on the one room that still had a lamp burning 500 years after it was lit, so there wasn't much point in exploring the rest of the rooms, but one of them had an altar and a fresco on the wall--the fresco had a large empty throne with Orlanth, Ernalda, the moon (but not Sedenya), Storm Bull, and most of the Gloranthan pantheon bowing down in front of the empty throne, in case it wasn't apparent that the underground laboratory belonged to the Godlearners.
