Social views

Sorry, I was busy packing this weekend for the impending move.

I'm fine with any level of racism that we deem is appropriate for the time. Although I appreciate the Keeper's view on leaving it to NPCs rather than PCs. If only to ease interparty conflict. Frank has dealt with his share of racism and has some fiery views about the topic.

On keeping the magic smoke *inside* the engine

Honestly George shouldn't be trusted to drive anything...he was a bosun, not a pilot, and doesn't own a vehicle.

watch for the running gag where George has to drive everything...

Packing

According to what I understand from everyone's character sheet, only the Theaker's own an automobile, a Duesenberg, which is quite roomy and will serve to transport six persons to Blackwater Creek. There is also the school's truck to carry camping and excavation gear and supplies.

Other than the Theakers's luggage and Professor Theaker's personal gear, there isn't room in the Duesenberg for four suitcases. Dr. Bliant, Thomas Daniels, Frank Smith, and George Mogrey will have to consign their bags to be hauled under tarp on the truck, driven by George.

Will everyone post in their Private Messages thread what they intend to take with them for a four-day stay in Blackwater Creek. The Prop Closet will still function, but those considerations will be limited to what is reasonably (in my estimation) carried or packed in a suitcase, excluding what you might have at home or in your office.

Dr. Bliant, for example, might have a lovely Zeiss microscope in his office at M.U., but he's not going to be able to use it while on this outing.

Moving Right Along

I've posted a thread fot Dinner with the Theakers. I'm letting everyone make one post there about anything they're doing before dinner. I'll move along by Sunday whether I have six posts or not.

Don't forget to give me that gear/equipment post in your Private Messages thread.

See you at dinner.

Everyone's character sheet is up to date, as far as I can tell. Before I open it for you to be able to edit, please check and advise me of any necessary corrections.

Thanks.

I will find some way to justify the inclusion of the harmonica.

Also it seems we're taking the barometer, so everyone can have a weather forecast on request.

Does Frank have George's shotgun and/or spyglass down on his sheet? I see I have the stats down on mine, but that doesn't help Frank if he wants to fire the former at passing lunatics, hostile farmers or sky alligators.

Christine probably doesn't have much to add in the details of the expedition. This is not her forte. So happy to go with the flow in that regard.

Christine can play the harmonica.

I'd suggest pouring more alcohol down George to make him less fretful and prickly, but I've seen The Lighthouse; that's how somebody winds up getting cursed.

In reply to George Mogrey (msg # 55):
I adjusted that. I left it on George's sheet because it is his, but we'll remember that there's just the one.

Harmonica is on George's sheet. Oh, it will be so much fun around the campfire.

...or we could consume alcohol and go burgling. Sorry, Christine, that...didn't go as planned. Please accept Beezle the goat if George and Jamie lad get summarily devoured by Ceiling Mother.

Always in fashion for the occult-minded lady.

Well, load up, lads, looks like we're doing this! George is ready as soon as James is, I was just giving Jason a chance to look in there.

He was talking to his wife inside the house a moment ago, but...OOC, still going to give other players a chance, it's only fair.

George calls shotgun, though.

I'm laughing so hard at the goat. And the image of an angry goat smacking his head on the side of your car as you trundle down the road.

I think the best part is the implication that this device solves a common problem.

I'm imagining the radio copy:
