GM, 3 posts I am Bill I tell stories Sat 21 Mar 2020 at 06:21 | OOCUpdated a few things.
There is a map in the upper left under Game Maps. it gives some idea where things are. There is a purple X on the left that shows where you are coming from.
The wiki has general information about the place you are going. Most of that stuff is things you might know or could easily learn as you travel.

GM, 4 posts I am Bill I tell stories Sat 21 Mar 2020 at 06:37 | OOCI'm assuming that no one really wants to play through a few weeks of travel, so there is going to be a jump in the story near the beginning. All (or at least most) of you will come together and be heading to Elisir Vale, and we are going to gloss over that bit.
So I'll ask you to think about some things others might notice about your character as you travel. Do you whistle constantly, put black peppers in all your food, have an endless supply of curses in multiple languages, snore, baby talk with the horses, or some other quirk?
You can hold off on answering until we get to the road, since it is possible your first meeting will change stuff.

GM, 9 posts I am Bill I tell stories Mon 6 Apr 2020 at 11:49 | OOCIf you want to add a picture, click on "character Details" in the upper left, and then you should be able to pick a picture. I believe you can add a different picture, but it was kind of a pain. If you go through fantasy types, you'll probably find something

GM, 11 posts I am Bill I tell stories Thu 9 Apr 2020 at 16:17 | OOCTomorrow is the last day of the term, so I told the little hooligans to turn everything in by today. So I got buried under a mountain of late work. So many essays, and they are all so booooooooooring.
Anyway, I have now spent a term teaching online

GM, 15 posts I am Bill I tell stories Mon 20 Apr 2020 at 12:46 | OOCWe might be missing one player. Not sure. I'll probably see her again at some point, what with being siblings.
I want to switch to this thread for a few days, then we'll pick up again in the other thread.
If you look at the game map (I think you need to select "main game map") you are a bit northeast of the purple X, which shows the direction you are coming from. The history/geography teacher in me can accept that the main road would be built at a distance from the river, so they should be pretty near each other most of the time.
You've had a week or two together now, and have a summary of what happened on your fairly uneventful trip. I'd like you to add some things:
What have the others learned about you? Are you constantly hunting, identifying bird calls, etc. Have you shared any important things about your background?
Any noticeable habits (always muttering in dwarven, very friendly with peasants, snores, adds paprika to everything, etc)
If there is something else you would have wanted to do along the way, feel free to add things. Describe a minor interlude, not a major side quest.

Theo would be spending part of his resting time communing with nature and part of his time checking maps and the letters he had been given to plan who he might talk with and when. When traveling or resting he would often be seen habitually rolling between his fingers the spherical onyx pendant he wears around his neck. Should any long, drawn-out, get-to-know-you conversations occur between party members, Theo's contribution would be short and blunt.
Theo would offer that he is indeed a Carterian and is in search of an historical relic recently stolen from his tribe. If pressed, he would say he had been following the trail of the potential thief, but the trail had gone cold. Carterian philosophy teaches that everything in the universe is connected to every other thing, and that sometimes events that seem unrelated can, in fact, be closely connected. Shortly after the trail went cold, he received word that the baron was looking for adventurers to go on this mission. Theo took that to be the universe directing him toward the next step in his journey and readily followed that direction.
Occasionally, when approaching elevated or potentially dangerous ground, Theo may discretely hang back and "disappear" for several minutes. Should that be noticed and Theo questioned about it, he will say only that he was seeking guidance on the path forward.

player, 4 posts Tue 21 Apr 2020 at 21:08 | OOCIn reply to Theopholis (msg # 10):
Sorry about the delay, been busy the last weekish.
Bella does try to get to know the other party members. She asks questions and seems very alert of surroundings and friendly towards the group. Also seems to strike up friendly conversations with any passing travelers or any town we pass through.
She does let on that she has a pretty informative book, and is frequently reading from it, and telling random facts about any little towns we pass through. She keeps the book on her all the time, and doesn't let anyone else see it. If other people get into an argument about something, she sometimes ruins the fun by looking up the answer.
She does look up the castle we are going to, to see what the book tells about it, and will share that with the group.
Sometimes Gobby runs off and seems to go hunting, just for himself. Sometimes he wanders off for no reason, but always finds us again. Otherwise he just comes along, and follows any orders Bella gives him as far as setting up camp, taking care of horses, cleaning her things, etc.

player, 8 posts Fri 24 Apr 2020 at 23:28 | OOCUrison attempts to strike up a conversation with each person in the caravan as they first set out. He's very friendly and supportive, offering to help if any problems should arise. He is friendly with anyone along the road, so it is quite unusual when he ignores two paladins of Pelor, awkwardly hiding his face as they walk by.

Zarotyma let everyone know that she prefers to be called Tyma (pronounced Tee-mah).
She mostly stays with everyone, and usually has a bird or small woodland creature (i.e., chipmunk or squirrell) hanging out on her shoulder. she appears to be communicating with them but doesnt make that big of a deal about it.
She may disapear for short periods of time and come back with a bunch of nuts or fruits or fungi (always edible- she promises/swears to everyone that food is something she never jokes about) that she happily shares with anyone that wants some.
The group may also notice random animals swooping in to steal something or trip someone or jump out and scare them - After which Tyma explodes with laughter at the victim's response. She also makes sure the stolen item is EVENTUALLY returned to its owner.
She does talk with others but ususally turns the conversation towards them and doesnt share much other than both her parents have passed and she may or mayn't have interacted with pixies at some point in her life.

player, 16 posts Fri 28 Aug 2020 at 13:58 | OOCTyma decided to see how true to nature some of her fellow travelers are. Due to a slight mistrust of Gobby, she approaches Urison first. To test his like/dislike of nature, she approaches him with a squirrel on her shoulder that she had been chatting with.
To Urison: "Good marrow, have you been doing a lot of travelling? I prefer to be out in the open rather than trapped in a crowded city."
