The Undertavern
When you first enter the tower, there is a large set of stairs leading down into a wide-open oval area.  At either end, there is a fire burning in a large fireplace.  Softly glowing grey crystals provide some additional light.  Thre is a bar facing the stairs.  A few long tables run through the large room, and there are quite a few people singing at one.  A different group at the other table is watching them, listening to their song.  In both groups, a few people raise glasses in greetings.

The Undertavern
Theo orders himself a drink and some food at the bar. While he waits for his meal, he eavesdrops on the talking and singing folk, hoping to hear a tale or a song of some relevance to his quest.

The Undertavern
The food comes fairly quickly, and the guards you were traveling with invite you over, though a bit hesitantly.

The singing group is singing a song that seems to keep getting longer.  From what you can tell from the ending, the versesare about someone named Murg, who is running from a giant.  In the verses, he drops things as he tries to escape, and the chorus is an expanding list of the things he has dropped.  The song ends with the giant deciding he isn't worth the trouble and the naked man running home in triumph (?)  Seems to be a well known song, and funny if you are pretty drunk.  Not being as drunk, some of the charm might be lost.

"Hey, do you know any good songs?  Bar maid says there's a round on the house for the best group."  Your companions look hopeful as the next group begins singing about fighting foes in different places, with the goal always being stay alive so you can get drunk.  It doesn't seem as well known, but is proving to be a hit.

Your stew arrives.  It isn't bad, though most of the ingredientsseem likely to have been preserved for a while.
