Re: The Slaver's Resistance: Part 1
Dread Delgoth looks up at the boy. "Well get on down here boy, don't you know a rescue when you see one. How well do you know how to use a sword?" he says in his dreary tone.

Lord Drayvix looked to Dread Delgoth with a bit of disbelief, "You would ask the boy to join us to rescue the others after himself being liberated?"

"What would you do, set him off on his own so that he can be captured and enslaved again or worse?" Dread Delgoth comes back with a quick retort.

"Oh, thanks guys!  I wouldn't know how to get out by myself.  If you'll just let me follow along with you, I won't get in your way."  The lad climbs down the ladder from the hay loft to join the group.  His clothes are tattered rags and he's dirty, although he appears to be in good physical health.

Re: The Slaver's Resistance: Part 1
Lord Drayvix grumbled, it looked like the matter was decided without discussion. He would have rather found the boy a secure place, give him a weapon sure, but having him follow them with the expectation of him assisting in what would surely be deadly battles ahead didn't sit well.

Jaeron doesn't really agree to this idea but he has no solution to add, so he just silently went on with it."Don't worry Drayvix, I'll do my best to defend the lad from harm" he says reassuringly to the disgruntled Lord.

Re: The Slaver's Resistance: Part 1
The boy looks around at the bodies on the floor, then acts quickly to take leather armor off one of the dead men and puts it one.  It is a little loose on him, but its better than walking around in rags.  Picking up one of the short swords, he inexpertly swipes it around a couple times, then grins.  "I'm ready!" he announces as he prepares to follow the group.

"The pointy end is what goes into yer enemy. Hold a firm grip, but not too tight. Slash like yer choppin' down a row of corn."

Seeing the boy's nervousness and excitement brought a slight smile to Cedric's face, but he hit it beneath the broad brim of his hat.

While the others debated their next steps, Cedric took a moment to search the bodies.

Re: The Slaver's Resistance: Part 1
Cedric searches the 8 bodies laying on the floor of the stable and takes 20 gold coins from each body for a total of 160 gold coins collected.

There are two ways to exit the stable: the broad double-doors that go outside that reinforcements had come charging in through, and the passageway that the party had come in through to the east.  There was still a path that led north from inside the temple that had not yet been investigated, with another corridor that had branched to the east from that passage.

Re: The Slaver's Resistance: Part 1
Dread Delgoth looks for a way to prevent someone outside from opening the doors and sneaking up on them after they leave the stables. "Need to make sure none come from behind if we can," he tells the others.

"I believe the double doors contain more of them." Jaeron says and turns toward the boy,"Oi, lad, where are the other slaves, that sounds like the better deciding factor then going by instinct."

Re: The Slaver's Resistance: Part 1
Cedric quickly gathered the coin and stuffed it away. They could split it later, but now they needed to act quickly. He glanced around the stable for ropes, planks, harness... whatever he could find to secure the double doors from the inside.

After making his best effort to prevent more of the filthy slavers from coming through, he awaited the group's decision, but added his own opinion.

"Let's find the slaves quickly before this anthill begins to frenzy... We've got to keep moving!"

Re: The Slaver's Resistance: Part 1
"I...I'm not sure.  They kept me in the stable to clean up after the horses.  I slept there and they brought me food.  Sometimes," he says, rubbing his stomach hungrily.  Arnel looks at the small door in the east well and lifts a hand to point toward it.  "Probably that way?"

Re: The Slaver's Resistance: Part 1
The group bars the door that lead outside the stables to make sure no more slavers come in front the outside.  They then make their way back through the door to the east, moving down the hall they came through and the door in the south wall.  Turning to the north, they move to the intersection.  Dim light filters into the ancient temple, lighting the path that moves far to the north, and another path that goes to the east.  Down the east path, there is a door in the south wall of the passage.  The east passage turns to the south after a distance of about 30 feet.

Arnel points down the passage to the east.  "That way, I think?"

Jaeron looks at Arnel questionably,"Wait, I don't know about this lad, the fact that you weren't chained up and your physically healthy with no signs of abuse, bothers me? Something doesn't add up here." the marshall says and just stares at Arnel's face,"Are you a slaver that's pretending to be a slave, Arnel?"

Re: The Slaver's Resistance: Part 1
Dread Delgoth looks down the east passage and then up the north passage. "What lies up this way then do you know?" he asks.

He had also wondered silently if perhaps this would be slave was a pretender, but still he had no evidence to the contrary that he was a slave as he claimed.

Re: The Slaver's Resistance: Part 1
Arnel cocks his head to the side as Jaeron accuses him of not being a slave.  "Look mister.  That's kinda mean to say I'm faking being a slave.  You don't know what they've had me do!"  His face flushes a little red with anger as he stands up to Jaeron.

"Hmm, fine, I'm sorry for calling you a pretender, let's just get this over with." Jaeron says, unsure about his accusation's himself and no evidence to prove otherwise, he completely believes the lad's claim.

Re: The Slaver's Resistance: Part 1
Cedric moved ahead and checked the door down the eastern hall, first by listening carefully, then glancing over the frame and latch for sign of some mischief.

Cedric will check the door and if it's safe, or if he doesn't hear anything, he'll open it up.

Re: The Slaver's Resistance: Part 1
Cedric listens at the door and finds that it is quiet on the other side.  Without hearing any noise, he cautiously opens the door and peeks inside.  The room beyond the door was about 15 wide and 30 feet long ... when it could be considered a room.  The ceiling has collapsed and the area of the room is filled with rubble.  Daylight from the sky fills the ruined area and it is clear that there are no other doors that enter or exit this space.  There are also no signs of activity.  This area has been long abandoned and only charred timbers and ruins are here.

Cedric shrugged, "We keep moving..."

He exited the room and moved quietly eastward, pressing against the wall at the corner and peering around it to the south.
