If you'll just let me follow along with you, I won't get in your way." The lad climbs down the ladder from the hay loft to join the group. His clothes are tattered rags and he's dirty, although he appears to be in good physical health.

He would have rather found the boy a secure place, give him a weapon sure, but having him follow them with the expectation of him assisting in what would surely be deadly battles ahead didn't sit well.

NPC, 3 posts Wed 24 Jun 2020 at 23:43 | Re: The Slaver's Resistance: Part 1The boy looks around at the bodies on the floor, then acts quickly to take leather armor off one of the dead men and puts it one. It is a little loose on him, but its better than walking around in rags. Picking up one of the short swords, he inexpertly swipes it around a couple times, then grins. "I'm ready!" he announces as he prepares to follow the group.

Seeing the boy's nervousness and excitement brought a slight smile to Cedric's face, but he hit it beneath the broad brim of his hat.
While the others debated their next steps, Cedric took a moment to search the bodies.

There are two ways to exit the stable: the broad double-doors that go outside that reinforcements had come charging in through, and the passageway that the party had come in through to the east. There was still a path that led north from inside the temple that had not yet been investigated, with another corridor that had branched to the east from that passage.

They could split it later, but now they needed to act quickly. He glanced around the stable for ropes, planks, harness... whatever he could find to secure the double doors from the inside.
After making his best effort to prevent more of the filthy slavers from coming through, he awaited the group's decision, but added his own opinion.
"Let's find the slaves quickly before this anthill begins to frenzy... We've got to keep moving!"

GM, 49 posts DM Mon 6 Jul 2020 at 15:00 | Re: The Slaver's Resistance: Part 1The group bars the door that lead outside the stables to make sure no more slavers come in front the outside. They then make their way back through the door to the east, moving down the hall they came through and the door in the south wall. Turning to the north, they move to the intersection. Dim light filters into the ancient temple, lighting the path that moves far to the north, and another path that goes to the east. Down the east path, there is a door in the south wall of the passage. The east passage turns to the south after a distance of about 30 feet.
Arnel points down the passage to the east. "That way, I think?"

Without hearing any noise, he cautiously opens the door and peeks inside. The room beyond the door was about 15 wide and 30 feet long ... when it could be considered a room. The ceiling has collapsed and the area of the room is filled with rubble. Daylight from the sky fills the ruined area and it is clear that there are no other doors that enter or exit this space. There are also no signs of activity. This area has been long abandoned and only charred timbers and ruins are here.
