Greetings everyone!

This thread will be the out-of-character chat for Wildfire!

Feel free to introduce yourselves and practice with the formatting in this thread.  Almost all of you are new to the website, so I'll be posting some basic guidelines soon.

Hello and welcome to our domain. RPoL is how Kai and I met a century or so ago, lol. Ok. Maybe not that long. In general, most players type in different colored fonts for voice. "I always liked to use the color Green" but still use " " to start and end a sentence. Italicize thoughts 'I will cut a hole who tries to steal my favorite color.'

And if you are starting a scene, or posting for the first time in a thread, putting Intro Post for your first ever post is widely accepted. If you are entering a location (as most threads are different locations) putting From: _______ on the top is best for referring back to where you came from. Likewise, if you leave a thread, at the bottom of your last post in the Thread should have To:_____ including your next location.

Sometimes Time Jumps (a few hours of game goes by) happens, so the last post you make would say Time Jump or Fade to black.

THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT!! To create a good story, add as much details as you can so other players can build off of it. Dont go all 5th grade hitting the word count Kusco's poison, but try to get at least 2 paragraphs or more in..

Also, hello

((Example Post))))

Intro Post

Alice lay in the dry leaves of the forest, the fall foliage tangling with the rivers of fiery red locks coming from her in a wild tangled mess. Her eyes were open, but unseeing, staring up at the softly moonlit night. Her green eyes seemed almost black in the still night. Soft whisps of cold breath created small clouds in the misty air around her. She was barefoot, mud and other debris caking her feet and darkening the pale white gown she was wearing, along the edge.

She laid, ever so still, and the only movement came from a murder of crows gathering around the tree branches. Her eyes darted slightly, and a small smile crossed her face, revealing normal looking teeth. Her canines might be slightly longer, but not like the stories go. Alice's eyes slid back from her friends to the open night sky, a series of chaotic swirls and patterns encompassing her vision. But, she only saw this odd world. This magical, manic world. It was glorious. It was terrifying.

Okay! Cool. This is my first time using this thing and I have absolutely no idea what’s going on so I will do my best to follow what you said. :)

I think Vinny only hit me up because I've used RPoL and can help transition.

It is super easy to use in my opinion, and the To and From are great for going back and re-reading a storyline, and figuring out what happened and where someone went.

RPoL also has 3 notification colors- Red means new messages. Blue means Private Messages and like a Violet/Magenta/Pink is for both. You can privately message another player but the Game Master (GM, Storyteller) and view all.

You can also edit and delete messages, and the GM has the same powers. It has been years since I was new, so feel free to ask even what you think might be stupid.

I will warn you, on April 1st, the site tends to get... wacky. You are very new and do not want to scare anyone away.

This site on April fools makes my brain hurt.
But I can tolerate it.

So we have Quin and Conner and Alice so far.  Lisa will be joining us, as well as MacReady.  Though he'll most likely be in a different location.

Feel free to choose a character portrait too.  I'm always a fan.

We've got Wildfire slowly trickling in!

The website is a weird format for noobies but I expect everyone will get used to it.

Sometimes, character sheets help describe your character. I usually write out a basic one and share it with the GM, then edit it and post in the character description. Keep out what I don't want players to know and make it fun to find out in game.

MacReady has a great one as well.

I'm seeing an increase in posts - 28 - for the game, but not seeing anything new in the game forums themselves.

BTW, nice character descriptions - especially Rats. Well done.

Hey MacReady.

I too enjoy everyone's character descriptions!

As for the posts, I have a couple runaways in another town that are posting here and there.  As for LA, I'm trying to get the main LARP crew into the game but so far only you and Rats have joined.

I'll make a thread so that MacReady, Rats, and Vinny can at least interact.  And if the others make an appearance, all the better.

Quality of Life Announcement

Go to the main screen on rpol, and click "user preferences."  From there, you can change your colour scheme.  I highly recommend using the black theme, as it makes text much easier to read.

I changed the groups so that everyone can see every group.  That way you can follow along and eat popcorn while watching other players' antics.
