Re: Current Mission: Maximum Carnage
For the final action of the game, Black Cat succeeds in stealing the American Dream's shield.
As Black Cat puts her heist plan into effect, she must ponder how to nab that shield without drawing too much attention to herself. Though it appears the Dream has collapsed from the Rider's visions, it's no safe bet that she won't get back up any second now. And a prolonged fight with an angry super-soldier might not be at the top of Felicia Hardy's bucket list.
Fortunately, a distraction arises.

Without warning, the spider-web placed over the hole in the stadium wall abruptly tears loose. Angry civilians come barreling through the gap, knocking the Heroes for Hire aside. But who are these faces in the crowd? Certainly none Felicia recognizes, as she blends in among them and steals the shield off Carnage's body, though the others might:
At the head of the brigade is a shotgun-wielding deli owner, whose store was set on fire by the Demogoblin earlier. Leashed to his burly arm is some sort of freakish canine-- recognized perhaps only by Daredevil's keen senses as Tito the Chihuahua, who Spidey rescued from the blazes. The tiny dog has taken on a startling, slime-covered appearance since they last met, having apparently stuck his nose into a loose symbiote.
Nearby, Moon Knight's associate Frenchie marches in lock-step with the crowd, armed with his own military implements. Walking with little effort on his repaired prosthetics, one would have to look into his eyes to truly know the pain he's endured tonight. If he sees Marc, a simple nod is his only greeting.
Here, too, are the three looters Spider-Woman encountered at the Sanctum. From how each one looks in her direction, it might seem they seek to impress the heroine who earlier enchanted them. And if they have any thoughts about getting their hands back on Dragonfang-- well, one stern look from Jessica is enough to make them reconsider.
The presence of this angry mob can be traced to one reason, plain as day. They are here to avenge their city. They are here to hack away at the very roots of the madness that has consumed it. They are here to find Cletus Kasady, and end his life. But it appears someone has already beaten them to the punch.
"Mon Dieu," Frenchie murmurs. "What happened here?"
