Slowly getting there...

I appreciate you jumping on that action, DD. And hope you feel better soon, MK. I'm just going to get Venom's scene set up (next day or two) and then I'll get to reacting to everyone's posts.

Happy Easter to those who celebrate!

I didn't mind the push to get that post up, even if there weren't consequences. Sometimes I need a little something to get me going. And it was fun to flex those DD muscles again.

Get better, MK. But maybe not too soon -- cold meds can be fun.

Venom's post is up! Forgot to mention here I've been consciously toning down my use of colored text (which probably got a bit out of hand last time around), so that it's now only used to track characters currently present in each scene. Of course, Eddie has a bunch of different symbiotes sharing his body that we need to distinguish from each other, so my new resolution may not be immediately apparent with just how colorful this post looks. Venom, please don't feel obligated to format your posts the same way, if it's too much of a hassle. I've always done it to help easily pick out the different characters/dialogue in each post, but I've never actually asked if it helps anyone. Personally, I'm whatever the opposite extreme of "color-blind" is, and it helps me a lot when I'm re-reading the posts.

Reactions to everyone's actions coming up next.

I don't mind the color-coding. If I notice it at all it's for how nice it looks. Aesthetically it's stimulating. And if it helps you I'm all for it.

Epilogues

Use as you need. I tended to early on with it just have Eddie reply so I wouldn't have to rainbow the post. But I tend to Bold Venom itself as I love to have the human and the symbiote voice most of their arguments.

Both my Venoms do it...though this is the serious Eddie and the other is the slapstick meets cannibalism Mac Venom so sometimes we don't know what is going on.

Nameless minions are not people. They don't even get the Wilhelm scream!

Epilogues

I appreciate the feedback. Been dealing with a bad back injury over the last few days, but planning to get some reactions up this week.

Edit: The chunk of time I carved out for RPoL this week ended up being used to take a sick kitty to the vet (for what we were told was in all likelihood just an emotional/psychological issue rather than a real illness... Go figure.) Anyway, it's coming.

Epilogues

I've had a follow-up post 90% finished for about two weeks now that I'm hoping to get up within the next few days. As another quick update, I'm pretty close to a breakthrough with my job situation, and expect to have more free time for this soon.

Epilogues

Hey all. Just wanted to check in again and confirm I'm not lost in the Multiverse (or in an experimental submersible). You may have even noticed there were a few consecutive(ish) Watcher posts last week-- hurrah!

(Does anyone ever actually say 'hurrah'?)

While I'm in the rare (for me) position of waiting on a player post before I move things ahead, I wanted to give another campaign forecast. Somehow, May, which was my most recent target for finishing the epilogue, is already long gone, with June on the way out. I can only offer that real-life obstacles have continued to keep me from devoting much energy to RPOL, though my enthusiasm for this game still hasn't wavered in all the time since we wrapped Maximum Carnage. Some GM's might decide to just call a game off after such a long period of inactivity, but I see this as more of a long-term writing project that often switches between the front and back burners. For the next two months, but hopefully no longer, it remains on the back burner, with only occasional posts from me. I hope that's cool with everyone, and that you know by now I'm not the type that would ghost on you without warning. I like to think that, despite running things horribly slowly for the last year and a half, that it might be my saving grace as a GM on here-- that my interest in Marvel and this system runs too deep to ever let the flame here go out completely.

I'm sticking to my plan of taking some time off over summer-- my first vacation since 2019-- before making a commitment to getting the game moving at a regular speed again. Assuming I get accepted into grad school starting in the fall, I plan to take August off to try and recuperate from the burnout that's been keeping me from creative pursuits. (Or any pursuits, really. I often tell Tigra that it feels like being too tired to watch TV, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who's ever been there.) I'm not sure yet if I'll be posting here during that time-- part of me wants to unplug from everything, but if I get a sudden inspiration, I doubt if I can keep myself away.

I don't want to assume anyone's patience or interest is infinite-- at this point the epilogue might be taking longer to get through than the original adventure-- but you've all been gracious enough thus far and I hope you'll bear with me through what I believe is the final stretch of waiting. I'm hoping that the game can soon become something like a weekly routine, but everyone here will get plenty of advance notice before any posting expectations as such go into effect. I can't say for sure if we'll ever re-capture the quickest pace we achieved last time around, with multiple actions in the span of a day, but at least we could aim for something consistent and sustainable that works for everyone.

Sorry again for any false starts or mixed signals. There's a plan for what comes next, and we're getting closer with each new post. This epilogue has been a bit of an experiment, but everyone's done a great job playing along, even given my (almost total) lack of guidelines. Just know it will pay off-- there has to be something of a status quo set in place before we can blow it all to hell in the next chapter. It will be worth the wait.

Epilogues

Good Galactus, that was an entire essay. Maybe I should become a writer (instead of a guy who occasionally talks about becoming one).

Tl;dr version: Occasional posts to the Epilogue thread during July, maybe August, then I'll wrap the Epilogue and start a new chapter come the fall season. Were there to be little to no progress by then, I think it would only be fair to let everyone know at that time if the campaign is alive or dead. So, keep the receipt, new adventure starts by September or bust.

haha oh Rpol you cruel cruel mistress.

Also sorry it took me a bit to put down what I was gonna say then when I finally took the time to roll the dice basically through all that away as I forgot that me and Rpol don't like big numbers.

Re: Epilogues

Don't sell yourself short, Venom-- those rolls worked out pretty well! Hopefully the next one too, since I passed it back to you and Black Cat.

Re: my last few posts, it always feels a bit clunky narrating NPC's having lengthy conversations with each other. But I want to give a sense of who these new characters are on a personal level, since they could be important later. And the ball is back in the players' court now.

I'm on a hiking trip at the moment - I've only got connectivity in the evening and morning, and just on my phone.

I'll get the roll up this evening, but expect my posts to be short for a week.

Re: Epilogues

Hi everyone.

I've been lurking biding my time here for around a little over a month now, and with all the paperwork more or less finalised I figured I might as well finally break cover. Not really sure when I'll be actively joining the game but we seem to have penciled in the how and where, and it's nice to have an idea in mind so I can start considering introductory one-liners >:3

So yeah ... looking forward to playing with you all at some indeterminate point down the line.

Either way welcome! Things are a bit slow ATM but over fall and Winter we tend to be rather busy! We made a Symbiote/Superhero combiner so things go from super serious to silly just like a comic.

Re: Epilogues

Yes, welcome! I should also mention that this is the final player addition for the foreseeable future. 8 is the most players I ever ran MHR for in a real life session, and I think Elsa rounds out our cast here perfectly. (Tigra's out again, if anyone was wondering, though this game holds a warm place in her feline heart.)

Sorry to hear about your divorce, Domino.  I'm having a rough patch in my relationship and it's all very draining.
