Epilogues

Maybe in the new year I can get into a new game. It's more about not having the bandwidth to take on another, but maybe a different game and a new system could make me excited enough to take on yet another project. I'm old-school, though: I know Shadowrun, Cyberpunk, even D&D, and the superhero games from back in the day, but I'm not sure if those systems aren't so ancient that they're even beyond influences. But, yeah, maybe that kind of thing. From before when you could willingly put yourself at a disadvantage to get a reward in a dice action.

Everybody still here?

It seems like every game I was in hasn't posted in 2 months.

Re: Epilogues

The MHR games on RPoL exhibit a strange synergy at times, accelerating or decelerating in tandem. It must be that we all feed off each other's creative energy or something like that.

Oh, yes, hi! I'm still alive and here. Sorry for the cobwebs, and the numerous false starts we've had. The problem with severe burn-out seems to be that you can't force your way out of it. The only solution for me right now seems to be to find myself a new line of work.

... Which I have, again! (The job training I completed last year didn't lead to what I hoped.) It would seem that your resident Watcher is headed to grad school, with the goal of becoming a mental health therapist. (It was a recent breakthrough, with Tigra and the rest of my family only finding out from me earlier this month.) I hope to take a short vacation (the first I've had since before COVID hit) after I quit my current job around May, and really get things going here again.

I have so much planned for you all that I want to share-- so much fodder for great scenes and interactions that I can't wait to spring on you all! And there's yet more hanging PM threads and things I need to follow up on. But right now it's a waiting game. I think, at the very least, I can try and keep limping this epilogue across the finish line over the next few months. (You've all done a great job with it-- now I just need to hold up my end.) It was meant to get us all to a place where, going forward, the general premise of the campaign is crystal clear. And after that, we can start the next big chapter around May. Fingers crossed.

Thanks, as always, for sticking around.

Re: Epilogues

I'm also here (again, after a holiday break stretched out to more). I'm getting myself back together and getting consistent with my schedule again, and back to fitting my MHR games back into my life (especially on Thursday nights). And I plan to be here in May. Ready! Avengers Assemble!

Spider-Woman: Especially Classic Marvel. FASERIP, right? What do we want to say about it?

Re: Epilogues

Apologies for my delay. You would think a week-long vacation would have given me plenty of time to catch up here, but in reality, I spent most of it tackling all the IRL to-do items that have piled up over the months. Anyway, the post is up!

Even with how much I wrote, it's much less than I wanted to include. I'll be updating the Status Tracker, re-introducing Domino into the game, and bouncing back over to Venom and Black Cat over the next few days. More coming soon!

Re: Epilogues

I'm going to let Daredevil go first, seeing how the choice to follow Mary or attack along with Moon Knight is his decision.

Sounds good-- hopefully DD will see this soon. I will have Venom's scene up next. Also, to be clear about Black Cat's current scenario, it's meant to be ambiguous whether or not her "new friend" recognizes her. But we're going to play around with that.

Oh, geez. Sorry to hold things up. There ought to be a better way to contact me in situations where you're waiting on me.

There's a chunk of meat in those new posts that will take me a bit to chew through and react to. So someone else can go ahead and do something to get things going and I'll jump in later.

I came home from my trip with a cold. So I guess DD didn't need to rush after all, because I don't think I can post coherently while on cold meds.

I appreciate you jumping on that action, DD. And hope you feel better soon, MK. I'm just going to get Venom's scene set up (next day or two) and then I'll get to reacting to everyone's posts.

Happy Easter to those who celebrate!

I didn't mind the push to get that post up, even if there weren't consequences. Sometimes I need a little something to get me going. And it was fun to flex those DD muscles again.

Get better, MK. But maybe not too soon -- cold meds can be fun.

Venom's post is up! Forgot to mention here I've been consciously toning down my use of colored text (which probably got a bit out of hand last time around), so that it's now only used to track characters currently present in each scene. Of course, Eddie has a bunch of different symbiotes sharing his body that we need to distinguish from each other, so my new resolution may not be immediately apparent with just how colorful this post looks. Venom, please don't feel obligated to format your posts the same way, if it's too much of a hassle. I've always done it to help easily pick out the different characters/dialogue in each post, but I've never actually asked if it helps anyone. Personally, I'm whatever the opposite extreme of "color-blind" is, and it helps me a lot when I'm re-reading the posts.

Reactions to everyone's actions coming up next.

I don't mind the color-coding. If I notice it at all it's for how nice it looks. Aesthetically it's stimulating. And if it helps you I'm all for it.

Epilogues

Use as you need. I tended to early on with it just have Eddie reply so I wouldn't have to rainbow the post. But I tend to Bold Venom itself as I love to have the human and the symbiote voice most of their arguments.

Both my Venoms do it...though this is the serious Eddie and the other is the slapstick meets cannibalism Mac Venom so sometimes we don't know what is going on.

Nameless minions are not people. They don't even get the Wilhelm scream!
