Non-Player Characters

Raised from the lower end of Zhentil Keep, Faerenal stands about 5’7” and is well muscled.  His dirty blonde hair is cut shaggy at the ears and neck, and he wears a dark grey tunic under his banded mail.  He has a black rounded steel Zhent helmet with a noseguard, but he rarely wears it unless there is time to prepare for battle.  He has taken quickly to both sword and crossbow under the instruction of the half-orc, and keeps his armor and weapons well cleaned.

In his management of the hirelings, Faerenal is attentive and fair.  His attitude belies a great preference to serving the Heroes of Waymeet to life in a Zhent war party, and he finds it unchallenging to direct the movement and safety of the wagons when the party is so well compensated.

In his off time, Faerenal enjoys carving small totems of wood;  singing festhall songs while pulling off a flagon of mead, and quiet reveries to Myrkul to avoid an untimely death.

He is armed with a longsword, and a master crafted crossbow gifted to him by the half-orc.

Rowan

Rowen Blackwood

Slight and lithe, Rowan is a little over 5 feet tall, with fair skin, dark eyes, and midnight-black hair. She is slender with angular features, and her hands have long, delicate fingers. She normally dresses in a simple gray tunic, a pair of short breeches, and thick leather sandals. A thin belt at her waist holds a pouch and a slender dagger. She sometimes wears simple cheap jewelry (made of carved ornamental stones and polished wood), though she
usually keeps it tucked within her clothing.

Usually donning a canvas shift over trousers for combat or adventuring, her studded leather armor is fitted and able to be quickly secured with a series of quick release hasps.

This meek wallflower is actually a skilled thief, burglar, disguise artist, and liar. Although she has been in Hillsfar only a few years, she has worked her way deep into the Rogues Guild’s trust and is a respected member. She was born in Waterdeep but left that place after some unspecified “trouble,” coming to Hillsfar because her enemies won’t look for her here. She helps the guild with confidence schemes, spying, and high-risk burglary. When not on the job, she goes out of her way to make herself plain and unnoticeable.

Rowan prefers the short sword, although a dagger is always somewhere on her person and she has won many a silver in tavern dart competitions.

Barla Shoremantle

Barla Shoremantle

Barla is pretty and insipid.  In all of her 23 years, she never expected an elf of all things to propose and land her.  Now so entitled, she regularly demands a full line of credit at the fist and flagon, while demeaning her farm hand for petty tasks.  Quilro’s good name and credit do much to keep Barla from reproach, but now when she leaves the townfolk enjoy it much more for her absence than the sight of her curved rear.

Blond and buxom, Barla frequently nicks herself cooking.  So she quit doing it and now the farm hand is also a harried prep cook.  As Waymeet lacks a provender for finery, she continues to wear the retinue of clothing she acquired from her parents, until her elfmate life-partner returns with all the fair fashions of the fey folk.

Belgar Mumf

Belgar Mumpf

Belgar is a transplant from Melvaunt, having left to seek his fortune doing something other than shivering in the wet cold air, forever stinking of coal forges and smelting alloys.  After a few fortunate seasons running as a caravan guard, he had saved enough gold to stake a small outdoor tavern between Yulash and Hillsfar.  Over the years, as trade grew the warmth of a cooked meal and fresh ale on the road in Waymeet grew ever more profitable, and the Fist & Flagon became a regular stopover point for travelers, caravans and adventurers.  Eventually, wheelwrights, a small forge, and some holdings grew into a proper village.

That village saw dark times when the Convacle of the West, the Druid Malcho was dominated and charmed by a demon, and undead stalked the land.  The Heroes of Waymeet defeated the dark druid, and ultimately his cambion overlord, earning themselves the title and a nifty wagon as well.

Traynin Stoutfellow

Traynin Stoutfellow

Alas, poor Traynin.  We hardly knew ye.

Apprentice Harper, young Stoutfellow sought out the Heroes of Waymeet to further the Harpers standing requirements for information about evil in the area, and with the hopes he and his partner Delbar could recruit them as agents.  After initial successes, and the acquisition of an informative Zhent map, Traynin met a foul end after a night of overmuch mead and knucklebones in Elventree.  A Zhent dagger caught him through the back of the head in an ambush meant to end the Heroes once and for all.

Quilro has commissioned a fine statue be crafted to immortalize the almost heroic halfling Harper.

Rosvetta Guryerovich

This young and buxom lady is a member of the tiny nobility of Barovia.  The Guryerovich clan ekes a living by squeezing the short growing period of grapes in the far north for their modest vineyard.  Passionate and fickle, Rosvetta is the mind for business of the Balochi Vinyard.  The family are distant relations to the count.  Her brothers are selfish and spoiled, quick to indulge their appetites and spend what meager profits their concerns continue to generate.  While they drank and whored their way through the more temperate realms Rosvetta’s eye was always on business.

Seldane Ythlaral

Born of renegade drow followers of Ellistrae, Seldane found her way to Elventree after decades of travel throughout the southern Moonsea.  Her mother was a talented poet and singer, and her father’s innate magical abilities were augmented by years of further study.  They met a dark end at the hands of slavers due to a mistaken understanding of identity.

In Elventree Seldane runs a fine clothier shop within the Golden Cave;  the subterranean market stalls in goods public and illicit.  She has a small thatched roof home built into the side of a massive oak tree and can be found during her off days napping or writing among its many boughs.

Nelbin Belkov

Nelbin Belkov

Nelbin’s life began in the cold winds of Melvaunt.  Apprenticed at a young age to the temple-tinkers of Gond, Nelbin learned the finer craftsmanship of wagon construction, repair, and maintenance.  Recognizing there would be greater profit margins in the less crowded marketplaces youn Nelbin took a sea voyage out of the coal smoked streets of Melvaunt to the “balmier” southern shores of the Moonsea.  Having amassed enough capital working the wheel and wainwright shops of Hillsfar, he struck out with his own small capital and established a wagon repair yard in the appropriately named waymeet.  Twenty winters later he is one of the foremost recognized leaders and merchants of the village, although in his role he is reticent and quiet spoken unless an issue of direct threat arises.  In his dealings he is scrupulous and fair, but always angling for the highest margin the market will bear.

Dongsuch Mikoyan

Strong of arm and will, Dongsuch is as ambitious as he is haughty.  Typical of the Damaran nobility he believes that his family success in the frontiers in the Bloodstone lands are a direct result of Mikoyan superiority and the favor of the gods.  He serves as herald of Baron William VIII of Arcata, but sees the recent upheaval throughout the northern lands as much opportunity as crisis.

Jonleth Irenicus

Jonleth IrenicusElven Mage

Pale-skinned, almost bluish hue to the light gray with dark onyx eyes and flat black hair, Jonleth Irenicus speaks with the slow vowels of the far western high elven enclaves.  His forearms are circled with ornate silver bracers, but otherwise his traveling clothes are sturdy but nearly shredded.  His black leather satchel contains his journal.

The traveling mage appears aloof and dismissive of those not of sylvan descent, but speaks knowledgeably of the negative material plane, and the enormous energy within to reverse the effects of death, or harness them.

A younger but experienced elf, Jonleth claims to hail from Suldanessellar.  A reclusive high-elven city deep within the pine forests of Tethyr, rumored to be likewise in constant combat with a dark elven city below.  One of the last remaining elven realms in the west, its people are known to be haughty and withdrawn.

Bandalor Amonthus

Bandalor Amonthus

A grizzled veteran of the Tethyrian Wars of Succession, Bandalor struck to the Bloodstone lands hoping to find adventure and redemption in a far more rugged environment.

Hoping to find purity, instead the cleric arrived to find the ranks of the Morninglord infested with undead, just as the minions of the negative material plane began to assault the cities and villages of Damara…  from within as well as from without.

Bandalor fought as long as he could…  exasperated that each plan and step seemed foreknown by the mindless waves of undead, he headed back south away from Heliogabalus.

He spent the autumn of the Year of the Prince (1357DR) drinking and whoring in Praka;  making common cause with adventurers and apprentices in tasks mundane or adventurous for coin.  Bandalor knows many of the well-heeled (and not so well-heeled) low-ranking wizards, drunkards, and whores in Praka.

Nelara Rindsmore

Nelara Rindsmore

In the sun-kissed realm of Evereska, nestled amidst the peaks of the Western Heartlands, there lived a young elven woman named Nelara Rindsmore. Born into a prestigious family renowned for their mastery of magic, Nelara was expected to follow in the footsteps of her ancestors and become a powerful wizard. Yet, from a young age, Nelara harbored a rebellious spirit that refused to be bound by the traditions of elven society.

Growing up in the secluded splendor of Evereska, Nelara found herself chafing against the strictures imposed upon her by her family and the elven hierarchy. While her kin immersed themselves in the study of ancient tomes and the intricacies of spellcasting, Nelara felt a different calling stirring within her—a longing for adventure, for freedom, and for the thrill of battle.

As she reached adolescence, Nelara's discontent with her predetermined path reached a boiling point. Fueled by her insatiable curiosity and a desire to explore the world beyond the confines of Evereska, she made a bold decision—to forsake her family's expectations and set out on a journey of self-discovery.

Leaving behind the comfort and safety of her homeland, Nelara ventured forth into the wide expanse of Faerûn, her heart brimming with excitement and trepidation.
