Before leaving Ravenloft for the mountain pass to Arcata DonBrap leaves these instructions for Sieben, Kondor the Blacksmith and the two Tanners:

Sieben:

1. Continue the brewing of Lucheszi + McJurgin Healing Tonics.

2. Instruct Kondor and the Tanners to construct a shelter and Blacksmithing Foundry upon the parapet directly above the Laboratory. Direct Kondor to begin smelting the 8000cp we have stored in the Treasury and transmuting it into balls of multiple diameters ranging from 3"- 6", various lengths of 1" wide hammered bands and a finely pulled filament, thinner than a twine but thicker than fishing line.

3. Have the Tanners move all of the finished Dire Wolf pelts into the laboratory and forage the castle and grounds for straw and light twigs - as much as possible - more than enough and then some.

4. Use the pelts to approximate the size and shaping of the largest Dire Wolf and begin to bind the straw and twiggs into correspending faggots using the copper filament and banding. One faggot per articulated portion of appendage. Repeat this process for the body, head and tail adjusting the size and bulk of the faggots accordingly. Be mindful of the coin being smelt - account for each one and make sure to inventory and catalogue the remainder of the banding and filament.

5. Assemble the straw and twig Dire Wolf using the copper balls as jointing and sew the pelt into place to cover the armature as if it were taxidermied.

6. You have the measurements and spec drawings of St. Markovia's Thigh Bone - scour the bodies of undead being disposed of by the Barovian workers and collect as many Thigh Bones that correspond in shape and size to the artifact (preferably from similarly aged female cadavers). Boil and polish the bones to match the texture and consistency of the weapon to the best of your memory - work with Kondor to produce the banding from the spec drawings as strips for adornment of the tribute replicas. Show him only new drawings of the strip banding and not the bone specs.
