You may experience encounters under three circumstances typically (others may exist):
*While traveling to another village.
*While traveling to another region entirely.
*While adventuring.
If you do not need to travel, you are assumed to be adventuring by roaming the country side
and looking for trouble.
Consult the appropriate section below.
If you have a ROADMAP for this region, you can roll twice and pick either result.
Travelling ...
To village | To region | Adventuring | Encounter Type |
1-50 | 1-40 | 1-10 | Nobody encountered |
51-65 | 41-55 | 11-20 | Roadside Encounter |
66-80 | 56-80 | 21-70 | Combat Encounter |
81-100 | 81-100 | 71-100 | Roadside AND Combat Encounter |
Nobody encountered
You travel through the country-side, but there’s nobody interesting about.
If you have CAMP GEAR, you may set up camp. Roll 1D6. On a 5-6, roll a Roadside Encounter.
Roadside encounter
You encounter a traveler.
Proceed to the Roadside Encounter table.
Afterwards if you have Rations, you may consume one to roll for a new encounter.
Combat encounter
You encounter enemies.
Proceed to the Combat Encounter table.
Roadside AND combat encounter
Resolve a Roadside Encounter first, then a Combat Encounter.
