Character Creation
Ability scores will be generated by rolling 4D6 and dropping the lowest die for each score, then arranging the scores to taste.  I don't want to entirely eliminate randomness from character creation, but you'll want a balanced party and players should be able to play the characters they want.

In addition, characters receive maximum hit points at first level (except for rangers, who receive the maximum result on only one of their starting hit dice).  Low levels are deadly enough without being limited to only a couple of hit points.

Exceeding Level Maximums
Demi-human characters may exceed the level maximums printed in the rules.  However, once a character has achieved the printed maximum level for his class, the XP he receives is halved (so it will take longer to gain additional levels).  For multi-class characters, divide the character's earned XP among his classes, then halve the amount gained in those that have reached their printed maximums.

I'm not a fan of racial level limits, but I think this rule still helps keep to the intent of that rule.  Note that this rule does not allow assassins or druids to advance past their normal maximum levels.

Player Absence
If we're in combat or some other situation where the party is waiting on you, I may post for you after two to four days, just to keep things moving (and I will always be up-front about it when I do).  If you don't post in over a week, I'll send you a PM, and if you don't respond within two more days I will boot you and seek a replacement.

This is barring an announced absence.  In those cases you can either designate another player to post for you or leave it to me.

Discord Server
I've set up a Discord server for this game.  No gameplay takes place there, but if you need to contact me, I'm likely to respond more quickly there than on RPoL.
