I'm in that horrible situation where I know exactly what I want to get down but I've been dealing with an ongoing case of writer's block that kept me from making any real kind of progress. I'd even been considering just putting bullet points for my during the fall section and writing it up properly at a later date for the sake of making some progress now as that seems to be what's holding me back.

That section isn't strictly all that mandatory and I added mine mostly because I had a good idea of what Rashana was going to be doing when it happened. You can always reveal it later or whatever ;)

From the Game Info link, "Technology was at nearly the level of the old world," which is somewhere up around the Bright Republic or higher, no?  I'm content to wait on clarification from the GM.

May have missed that, but good to know. I was assuming lower tech, but no worries either way, word from GM would be good though ;)

I'm thinking theotechpunk anyway.  Using absurdly advanced technologies to replicate ancient tools, only more aesthetic.

Technology was Bright Republic level, but it won't keep working outside the world, hence why Network and Engineering aren't allowed - the devices are dependent on the realm's stability, and once you leave, the tech won't be functional.

As for why labor was undead-driven, think cultural tradition and you've more or less got it. It was driven by undead because it had always been driven by undead, and when you've got a Made God whose focus included Death to reanimate the dead, there's little cost in it. So no incentive to change.

Well, fixing Celestial Engines (or even building theric nodes) can totally be a thing ^^ but yeah. I had been planning on more magic items than advanced tech.

I feel a consensus forming. Looks that the majority is seeking to leave Irohn by Night Road and we have at least two fronts that need covering: preparing the people for the mass exodus and finding the right road to take.

Okay, so it sounds like people are ready to split up. We've got one person doing research, I think, which sounds like an Intelligence check to me - this is a difficult enough thing that it's not auto-pass for Alvatter, though it will be easier because of his Words and gifts. If you want to persuade/inspire people to leave, that's also an option, and Rashana sounds like she's making wagons and such to allow for people to travel more easily.

Does that all sound correct?

She does want to make several for the front/rear of the caravan with Balistae for defense. I wonder if I can commit influence for her to help teach some soldiers or volunteers how to operate them. No official stats exist for mounted/siegey weaponry, but I think it reasonable to mark them as 1d10 or 1d12 damage ranged weapons (or even 1d12, if you want to actually make them hit hard) with the 300 or 500 yd range.  Nonmagical, in this case (unless it's a weapon used with a gift, of course, like my Hammerhand)

Influence could definitely be used for that.

Assuming this is all stuff taking place before we go to investigate the roads and all that, Laila is committed to trying to smooth things over with the Dreamers and will probably try and investigate the city's military capabilities, such as they are, and see what assistance she can offer in terms of training and guidance after growing more familiar with her gifts.

Also should we all post in this thread or will there be separate ones for each portion.

It's probably fine to use this thread for all the setup, just be clear on where everyone is, IE Laila and Rashana in the workshop.

So I know this is never a fun thing to read, and I won't sugarcoat it. This game is great, I am enjoying it a lot. But right now, dealing with both probable-influenza and medication discontinuation, I'm in too rough of shape to realistically run games. It wouldn't be fair to you to deliver a subpar experience, and that's what will happen if I try to force it right now.

To be clear, I'm not canceling this game. I am, however, putting it on a temporary hiatus. I don't know how long this will take to resolve, but if you're still interested in playing when I'm back to a state where I can run it, I'd love to resume. For right now, I just can't run it in a way that would be up to my standards, and trying to force it will just make me feel worse without providing a quality experience for you.
