I want to go to Scholar's Sanctum for obvious and self-serving reasons. I will gladly accompany others to different gates in order to gain their support in going to the sanctum.

I think my personal shortlist (in no particular order) would be something like:

• The Glass Cradle
• The Glacier of Ebon Flame
• The Land of Trains and Fog
• The Nest of Fallen Stars
• The Sky of Chains and Wolves
• The City of Flesh and Flowers

Really though that's mostly dictated by the "sounds cool" factor. As far as in-character goes it's very much not my decision to make, and I'm completely on board with whatever you guys happen to pick.

Perhaps we go to the Glacier of Ebon Flame since it's appeared on two short lists and I'm open to it as well.

I mean ... if you asked me for a reasoned in-character choice I would probably mirror yours of the Scholar's Sanctum, as even if all we have to go on are names that at least makes an explicit promise of knowledge.

Like I said though, Laila won't be part of that decision-making process so I think my vote should count for less.

-The Kissing Kingdom
-The Walled Garden
-The Glacier of Ebon Flame
-Scholar's Sanctum.

As much as I'd like to get back into the game ASAP, I don't mind really mind waiting because I have a commission in the works and this way it might actually get finished in time for Laila's relaunch :)

I'm fine. Was planning an update for today. RPOL was acting up all weekend for me.

Glad to hear it, and yeah, I had a lot of issues with it hanging or failing to load pages at all too.

Ugh.  Yes.  I got sniped and I'm stumbling, and in any case it was just going to be La's behavior growing increasingly erratic.  I can do that soon.  I don't know why I'm so tripped up.

I'd considered it. Sani said she would be able to rejoin but, considering it's been coming up on two months since her last post and a week since last login...

I've got someone in mind already for a replacement, so it would be no trouble to bring another on board most likely. I can reach out to them and see if they're still interested, if people don't want to run with the current group. I'm also going to check in on Rashana and make sure things are all right there.

Also this might be a stupid question, but does Laila actually know that Bire La is an Inheritor - or even her name?

I genuinely wasn't sure whether the PCs were supposed to recognise La for what she was in those early scenes, and with Laila being nobility (and letting power go to her head) I could absolutely see her not concerning herself with La's name if she only regarded her as an outsider to their exclusive little club. If decorum kept La from being the one to cross that threshold then it's very plausible that Laila never actually learned what she was called.

Seems plausible to me. I'm not here to tell anyone what their characters see or know, but for my part, no. She doesn't realize. This is the most overtly any of her power has manifested yet.

And to more directly answer your question Laila, La doesn't presume to expect anyone above the servant caste to want to bother with her name, so she doesn't offer it.

Still keeping the full piece and bio update under wraps for spoilers' sake, but I've been sitting on Laila's redesign for long enough that it feels like I'm going to explode if I don't show off at least a bit of it:

I've quietly retconned (?) Laila to be a few years older. I'd never been totally happy with how young the previous portrait was but liked the outfit too much not to use it.

That ... sure is a post.

I always hate making things like that. I spend forever on them and I'm never close to happy with the result. Hopefully it gets the necessary points across though and deals out pretty much all of the exposition needed to get Laila's narrative caught up with the group. I'd originally wanted to bring up some of the Walled Garden plotline but by the end it was all getting to be way too much talking XD

  Oh, no worries!  La's getting embroiled in that plotline as the others reunite.  It'll emerge shortly either way.

And on that note, please nobody wait on me.  She doesn't belong in that scene, and there are other things for her to do.

As an aside, any word on Rakhur and Sani's statuses? They've both been idle since mid-october, and either potential solution I could've pressed to work on a food fix involved one or the other, so I'm curious if they're around, if not, and if Rashana was actually able to assemble a temporary measure or no?

(There had been talk about using dominion to that end, but I don't think it was ever nailed down)
