Seelie Freehold-Castle Beyond the Looking Glass:Joyous Guard

Joyous Guard is a Traditionalist Seelie Freehold. That is to say that the large majority of the freehold follows the beliefs prevalent during the Age of Legends. Traditionalists believe strongly in the right of kings and in the inherent leadership abilities of the sidhe. Traditionalist loyalties are particularly prevalent among the sidhe, trolls, nockers, and boggans. The Beltaine Blade is made up entirely of the most reactionary, of this philosophy. These traditionalist have spun up, from the plentiful sand of New Mexico, one of the most heartbreakingly beautiful freeholds in all of North America. This freehold is an early work of the resurgent sidhe which is only connected to the Autumn world by spidery thing raths (faerie passageways) that connect it to the Autumn world. Beautiful and fragile the freehold speaks to the spirit of the sidhe of the area.

Joyous Guard was one of the more powerful southern sidhe freeholds during the Accordance War of 1969 but a great deal of its power has been refashioned into other freeholds to protect the southern border of Concordia from hostile incursions along the Fate-Scar.

Positioned around Joyous Guard are the commissioned busts of Lord Tayern St. Clair ap Gwydion. A power sidhe noble of House Gwydion, Tayern matured into a true commander during a Dark-kin resurgence five years ago. Little did everyone know that this resurgence would develop into the current calamity which vexes all southern Kithain fiefdoms. These busts of Lord Tayern all capture a handsome strength and speaks to a rugged tenacity that may have been real or imagined. At noon each day the busts are ensorcelled to repeat one of his "legendary inspirational pronouncements"

Despite the regal beauty of the statue, and the effort placed into reworking Lord Tayern's legacy from who he actually was as a person, many of the courts still remember Lord St. Claire's legendary temper. A single year can only do some much to dim the fury temper of a Gwydion.
    Rumor
  • It is said that Cronol of the Starshine, Eshu Seer of the Caer Graceland is said to have been banished from the Kingdom of the Burning Sun for recounting a story of Lord Tayern's wrath.

Baroness Arabelle St. Claire ni Gwdion The Baroness has been a pillar of the community of Alburqueue for a decade. Both she and her husband have brought numerous business opportunities to the community particularly for Kithain and other Children of the Dreaming. Arabelle has inherited her husband's responsibility to wrangle Prodigals whom Tayern had proved skilled at manipulating in the past.

The commitments which fall from Tayern to Arabelle through bonds of marriage take up the large majority of Lady Arabelle's time, in addition, her right to rule is increasingly being tested by the Unseelie of Scarwood while a number of the freehold along the boarder of the Fate-Scar have called her military acumen into question.

From her seat of power in Alberqueue, the Baroness has declared all-out war on the Gallian and Thallain who accost the borders of the southern region of Concordia. Heart-hardened by the final-death of her husband.

Lady Arabelle St. Claire ni Gwydion is known to expertly wield the following Arts; Sovereign, Chronos, and Naming.
