Introduction

Hello! This post is to introduce myself and the game.

I’m not a particularly experienced GM, but I’ve done a few campaigns face to face and on Roll20. This is my first game on this website. I’m someone who has a big collection of books, but rarely gets to play. You can call me by some variation of my username, or GM or whatever else. If you want to use a name, I go by Lily. I generally have time to post a few times a day, often late at night.

Electric Bastionland is a game I backed on Kickstarter and have been looking forward to since it was announced. I have linked a free version of the book, which contains all the rules. You are under no obligation to read them, I’m happy to explain the rules we need when we get to them.

I do however highly recommend reading the 10 Failed Careers included in that book, and the setting material. Appreciation for the setting is the biggest factor in whether you will enjoy the game, and I see the setting as something we collaborate on, not something I solely take authorship over. The book gives some evocative ideas, but not a lot of concrete stuff. The specifics are for us to work out. For instance, you might be an Alien. If you are, you have a great deal of authorship where it concerns the biology and culture of your people, and where they come from.

There are 100 Failed Careers in total. I have access to those in my full version of the book. I’ll give you what you need when the time comes. You are free to determine your failed career via ability score matrix, or a d100 roll. The former slightly weighs things in favor of characters with weaker scores, giving them some better starting equipment. The latter gives you a Career at random, including several that aren’t available on the matrix.

That’s all for now. Let me know if you have any questions, and feel free to introduce yourself as well.

You roll 3 for Starting Pounds, so your gang were the Gladiators of Toil.
You get a Trident (d6) and a Ridiculous Headdress.

What helped you inspire fear in your victims?
You rolled 1 for HP, so you get a Mind Probe.
(Target must pass a CHA save or you learn one of their innermost secrets.)

Sounds great! Thank you so much! I envision a real glass cannon. The headdress will be the device! Does this game give anyone else Gamma World vibes?

I’ll have a portrait and description today!

Excellent! I'm hoping to find four players at least. But if we don't get them relatively soon, we can start playing with any number.

'Cuz, you know, we'll get no more players if the ad is buried like it is. :)

Hi, guys. I'm looking forward to trying out this game with y'all--it seems wild!

I think I'd like to take my chance with a d:100, if I may?

Certainly, go ahead and roll those dice. Might as well include all your other character rolls together.
