The Warehouse

It's not long after midnight as the heroes make their way to the warehouse.   The warehouse used to be a warehouse for furniture. It is very large

Outside there are a few thugs just talking.   Inside has more thugs.  Many are still wearing their "colors" or emblems
The Sharks wear gray
The jetts. Hispanic group that wears black or brown jackets
The Studs wear leather jackets (and the toughest looking)  many jackets have studs on them
Renegades wear brown jackets and red bandanas
Predators wear red and orange and are racist
Angels are an all female group that wear white jackets with the word angels on them.
Rockers are just a hodpodge group. No colors or see able leader
Hawks are spoiled rich kids.  All jackets have the word hawks on them.  They are the best armed but the smallest group
There are a few that are wearing Demon jackets.   They are the ones patrolling in and out to keep the thugs from fighting

Each group has their reasons to stop fighting.   But at midnight. They mostly look like homeless teens.

The mystic shakes his head and asks, there's no mocking in his voice, "Bet you've heard a lot in your time.  Study hard and you can be great.  Social workers telling you the system will take care of you, help you get back on your feet.  I lived on the streets once, different city, really different in fact, but lot of these same problems there too.  I remember fighting for a dry place to sleep, stealing scraps and running before another hungry mouth could take it from me.  Cynical was a survival skill that kept me alive."

"So if some bloke came along and told me how he was going to take care of me, take away all my woes, give me a leg up over everyone who'd let me down...I'd know there was a catch.  A hustle.  Three-card Monte and the queen's already in the dealer's pocket."

"And that's the scam," Sentinel nods to Ginormica before turning back to Thorne and looking the man in the eye, "So I suppose if you want to get technical, the mage didn't lie to you....he just omitted a few important bits.  These entities aren't from our plane of existence, can't survive here in this foreign matter any more than you or I could in outer space.  They need a vessel to wrap em in a protective cocoon, kind of like an astronaut in a space suit."

"Thing is, takes a lot of energy to maintain that existence but fortunately for them there's a meal wrapped up with them.  You soul.  Your chi.  Your shakra.  Whatever you call the you inside this mortal coil of yours.  They only needed your permission enter, only needed a portion of your soul to get the ball rolling, to start growing.  And just like any parasite, as they grow stronger, the host grows weaker.  Eventually the original host just isn't anymore an the thing inside the shell has a full hold onto this plane."

Sentinel steps closer to Thorn, not in a threatening manner, more to emphasis his point, "For the host, in the end it's death, same as gettin shot or hit by a bus even though their body doesn't show it.  How fast just a matter of how much they gave em to start.  The few who've gone full demonic, maybe a few weeks but I'm bettin less.  Those who take a lesser amount, hard to say.   They'll make it longer, sure, but hope they didn't have anything important planned more'n six months out."

"It won't be pleasant.  Frankly, a bullet would have been kinder."

He waits a moment, waits to gauge Thorns reaction before offering, "You're being used.  I don't think any of you signed up for a suicide pact, did you?  Oi mate, let us help for it's too late."

Okay, Sentinel's seen the mage and some of his demons in action.  Heard some of the details from the curator at the museum.  Gotten some idea of the arrangement made with the teens to accept the demons in.  I'd like to see if there's anything important he can guess further about the demons themselves (plane of origin, types, pantheon, etc...) or changes that will begin to be noticed by the hosts.

But before he begins to speak, he stretches his arms and legs and shakes them around like a wavy arm guy. Once this has gathered him some attention, he shouts, "this man says you're working together, that's good. We're not here to stop you from doing what you want to do, but we've heard some of you may be forced to do things they don't want to do. I still believe if you're working together, you don't need our protection!"
"There's nothing you can't do if you set your mind to it and work together. So, it's on you. If anybody tries to force you and yours to do something they don't want to do, work together and make them stop. Just let us know if you run into anything you can't handle."

Returning to his normal size and shape, he makes his way to Lord Thorne and speaks just to him. "Ok. Your role isn't over, yet. But there's a new wrinkle. From this point on, if you fail you'll hear from me, as well as whoever set you on this task."

So, I paid for this Extra-Dimensional movement, was supposed to be for the Astral, Faerie, The Netherword, Elysium & Babylon as described in Mystic World source book.  What are my options of porting Najewa to Faerie or Elysium probably (not sure where her pantheon hangs out) for assistance?  Unfortunately I don't have a healing spell.

Warhammer:  ocv 8 + 11 - 8 = DCV 11 or less.   Hit.
He is knocked down but not stunned.

Malleable man gets closer to the scythe

Ginormica grows and tries to frighten a man who works for demons.  But he does pause.

Sentinel grabs the scythe and feels the evil radiating from it.  The only way he could take Najewa to the other dimension is to pick her up and cary her there

And if Thorne is a demon,  pure silver may hurt him.

T1 - Segment 3

"Oh of course," the blue-clad mystic grins as he barely manages to avoid the same deadly blast that laid Najewa low momentarily, "Have to demonstrate some proper gentlemanly manners after the ghastly display old Thorne here has shown.  Not too personal I suspect, think it's really the scythe he's after...well besides the whole demonic desire to kill and feast and summon greater nightmares to this plane."

"I'll see if I can keep his attention for a few more moments but not sure how long I can avoid those blasts of his.  Don't take too long."

His cape whips as Sentinel floats sideways, hoping to draw Thorne's focus from Najewa's direction.  He tries to move in the general direction of other heroes in case he should fall and another need protect the scythe.

"Oy Sticker...oh terribly sorry, Thorne, really it's an honest mistake.  I knew it was some kind of prick."

"Listen, how about you surrender now and I'll promise that when I use this scythe to rip that demonic entity from you body I'll do everything I can return it to its plane of origin.  Otherwise...otherwise I'll make sure its essence is consumed and dispersed completely.  You won't be fit to threaten a goldfish let alone serve...oy, what's your lord's name anyway?

Half move 10" and try to get Thorne's attention, maybe spill a detail or two
Will delay 2nd half to see how things pan out this Segment. Maybe Dodge.  Maybe blast his variable SFX attack set to silver.  We'll see....

Ooc:Solutions
a back up phone at home with normal Id stuff, when you destroy your normal phone when switching into hero Id or getting ready to go into combat if you have no place to store it
same thing with a burner  phone
this might pose a problem if the PC is poor and nobody buys them cheap burner phones
unless the PC has at least 3 points of wealth having to replace that Iphone 11 every time will get noticed at the apple store
just buy cheap track phones(50$ gets you 120 minutes, texts and 120megs of internet for 3months)

Sentinel pauses, regards Throne's unconscious form, and concentrates a moment...

20:26, Today: Sentinel rolled 8 (with 2 body) using 3 with the Hero (Champions) system.  Hit Thorne with Mental Blast
- Hit ECV 10-

20:26, Today: Sentinel rolled 18 (with 6 body) using 5 with the Hero (Champions) system.  Mental Blast dmg.
- 18 dmg....does it feel like Thorne has any Mental Defense?

Recovery Table on p412 looks promising if we can Thorne past -30 STUN...

5th ed doesn't allow Haymakers with anything but STR does it?

I can try Mental Command next, just to see if Thorne happens to be susceptible to it but if not it'd be tough to get high enough to overcome his EGO.

Malleable Man looks back at the assembled heroes, and says, "stop that."
Forming one hand into large megaphone, he accosts the various gang members. "Hey! Anybody got a cell I can borrow?"
As some of the punks respond negatively, Mal responds in kind by stretching his other hand directly towards the negative ones and shaping it like a giant foam finger. The message from this giant foam finger, however, is not "we're number one".
As he does so, he turns his head 180° and addresses those keeping Lord Thorne subdued. "The kind of people that beat on a man when he's down are the kind of people we're USUALLY intent on stopping."

"Agreed," Sentinel adds, "That madman has already tricked a handful of homeless teens just like those here into allowing demonic entities to possess their bodies.  They're hungry, tired, rejected...vulnerable.  This is the beginning of an invasion; it has to be stopped now before it grows any larger."

"We've an artifact that can extract the demonic spirits but only if the host is willing.  Right now these teens are too desperate and hurt, they won't reject the demons because they honestly believe its their only chance for simple survival.  If PRIMUS has any disaster relief resources, anything to help convince these kids that they don't have to sell their souls, it could go a long way toward breaking through the lies the mage is spreading."

"And current info on the island and details on the possessed: backgrounds, histories, or contact of families who aren't complete bullocks.  If there's any light there in what is probably a lot of toxicity we need it.  There's going to be a fight on that island but the best weapons we can bring to bear might just be Hope."

Glancing to Ginormica and Malleable Man Sentinel offers, "Some of our team may be able to reconnoiter the island but one of your fancy satellite images could give them a good starting point for places to look.  I'm reluctant to mentally scan the area myself, there's a possibility the mage may detect such scrying and be alerted to our presence."

Sentinel waits to see if he'd guessed correctly about Ginormica and MM's infiltration abilities or if any of the others might volunteer such.
