The next scene

In reply to Sentinel (msg # 82):

Too dangerous to have anything on site.  Let's head to administration.

He also gives you the other info available in the old.

Najawea, minus 10 active points from your spirit aura, and 1d6 from your healing
Sentinel, minus 10 active points from pretty much everything
War hammer, all of your powers are oif.  So no change.
Wealth, minus 10 active points from everything.
Honor kids, it only takes 1/2 phase longer to change shape.

you are all lead to administration..  The western, assistant warden, and 2 people in Stronghold clothes are there.

"Did the robots start malfunctioning before or after the technology inhibiting field went up?" Ginormica asks, "If after it went up did they go haywire upon reactivation and deactivation of the field? Is there a central computer core that controls the robots where we might regain control of them with minimal damage?"

Re: The next scene

In reply to Sentinel (msg # 86):

This is the basics.  There was no warning and the power outage lasted only 5minutes.  The bots were acting normally before the outage.  A few prisoners were just ending their exercise walk when everything just quit working.  With no bots or tech we automatically drop to black alert, expecting a breakout attempt.

None of the prisoners seemed prepared.  Of course some took advantage, which I will go into detail in a minute.

When power was restored, some prisoners were still in their cells.  The bots came back online and attacked everybody, prisoner and guard alike.  All the bots on the administration level, just left.  Walked right out, about 20 bots.  The rest attacked.

4 people killed, 2 guards and 2 prisoners.  Dragon fly is hurt badly.  Sonar and Radar (points to 2 in prison garb) have been working with us for a year and will be released soon.

we have 3 levels of prisoners, depending on their strengths and danger they propose. Esper, Freon and, Alchema are loose on level 1
Requim, Frost, and Ripper are loose on level 2 and
Geothermal and Glacier are loose on level 3

The elevator is the only way down there, and more may be hurt if nothing is done.  So, our goal is to take out the bots until they don't pose a threat and to recapture the loose prisoners.

Re: The next scene

"How many robots are we talking here?  Any fail-safes on them?" Sentinel asks, "Is there a central control for all the robotic guards where they could be shutdown?" he echoed Ginormica's question.  He hadn't heard an total count of security robots but if there were 20 in administration alone then fighting all of them seemed out of the question.

"What about available equipment?  Is there any way to insulate ourselves from the suppression field of the prison?"

Disabling the suppression field itself for any length of time was unthinkable.  Facing dozens of robots was bad enough but facing an entire prison full of super-powered villains was tantamount to suicide.

To Ginormica he suggests, "Perhaps if we can disable one of the robots you'll be able to analyze its programming a determine what's happened to them."

The group needed a place to start; maybe analyzing a bot was a good first step?  Maybe someone else had a better idea....

Re: The next scene

In reply to Sentinel (msg # 88):

. In the basement we have about 20 bots, no prisoners, or guards.  On the hot sleep level, we have 10 bots and 2 loose mega villains; one cold, one lava.  On the middle level we have 10 guards, 10 bots, and 3 loose prisoners.  On the level just below us is the same as the second.

I have an ultra off switch for the bots, but a bot is in there guarding it.  He is the one that hurt dragon fly.  I also have a kill switch for the power dampened in there, but you have to go to the basement with it to turn it on and off.  2 people required, much like a nuke device; but nothing that could assist a villain or hero individually.  Remember, if it could assist a hero, it can assist a prisoner.

And we do have robot experts on staff, but one left with the escaped bots.  He was new.

The best option would seem to destroy the bot guarding the fail safe, then deal with the prisoners. Preferably before Geo realizes he can lava his way out.

if we are starting at the top, we only have 1 bot to take out on this level, and even though he's not attacking now, he is dangerous and has attacked before.

Re: The next scene

The mystic suspects Najewa is correct but further investigation could wait until the situation was in hand once more.  "Then best we get to work," he nods, "the longer this remains out of control the greater the change more guards are killed or villains escape."

He checks his comm unit to ensure they would be able to communicate with Wildman and his team if questions arose once they entered the prison.  Then he moved to the entrance...

"You had an employee leave with a number of the missing bots? A relatively new employee? Could we see the employment file of this individual? How closely were they vetted, sounds like a directed attack." Ginormica says.

"Could someone very large perhaps turn both keys at once?"
she asked.

"I could shrink, move down to the switches and then deactivate the robots, it might be to dangerous to turn off the power dampening field," she offered.

"Who caused it can wait, stopping the prisoners before they can escape is the primary mission." Warhammer said. "Since we are not cops or such, how do you want to handle the legal aspects? I am guessing, try not to kill the prisoners. If the bots can be deactivated without blowing holes in them or the facility do so. That about sums it up?"

In reply to Najewa (msg # 96):

Suddenly the lights flicker and a red light flashes.  Everyone is at full power.  . Damn it!  The bots in the basement must have shut off the dampening field!  We really have to hurry now.  We have a lot of prisoners.

He turns on some monitors.  Geothermal and Glacier are concentrating on each other.

Requim, Frost, and Ripper are attacking a wall while trying to defend themselves.  A guard dies from being hit by a bot.

The floor beneath you , A bot hits Esper, knocking her unconscious.  Alchema touches a small bot, making it useless.

(it was just too much work). Other, unnamed prisoners try to attack their cell doors.

1 is the elevator
2 are guard stations
3 is the central core.

There is no stairs, but a ladder on each side of the elevator for security.

Basically, the only way down is the elevator.  Only administration is above ground.

"Who designed this with the computer core on the prison level? I mean very dangerous if you had any technopaths," Ginormica asked, "So with the elevator the only way in and out, then naturally all the villains will be making a beeline to it if they escape their cells. That is the ones that are at least inclined to really escape instead of settling old debts."

@Najawa if you can crawl in they can crawl out.  Air vents too small for humans but there may be barriers for shrinking.

@ginormica I think it means central core.  The main stuff is in the basement.
