Re: Sum Up!

I've already said that I'll ditch the vehicle and leave it behind. Chaplain assumes the town defenders have already seen them coming. There are a finite number of roads in and out of Acapulco, and we likely didn't take a smuggler's route.

We can assume safely we were seen, and probably identified as adventuring types. Whether the defenders will actually care is another story. It's actually possible the vampires this far south have only heard stories about the Coalition, and think they are a joke that can be held off with the chaff and riffraff of their forces.

And yes, I caught that about the tattooed folk as well. However, we are one of many groups. We are just better armed than most, and I think they would be more concerned with us disrupting social order then anything else.

In other words, if people start getting alarmed around us, instead of seeing us as out of place amusing curiosities due to our armament in what is supposed to be a peaceful zone, then we are in trouble.

So, if someone makes another pass at one of them in a way he sees as less than respectful, Chaplain might get the party into trouble, either with a snarl, a pistol drawn and set to give a high-pitched "charging up" whine accompanied by a meaningful stare, or simply punching them in the face out of disgust.

Re: Sum Up!

The 003, the older, lamer version of the 004. I considered the 004, but decided that having a squad transport vehicle was more important than compacted firepower. Pretty much everything in World Book 11 was an improvement, so I know what I missed out on.

Re: Sum Up!

So you're not planning on striding through town woth the skull Walker? OK, I misinterpreted that.

Was that in any of Wolf's open dialog? I'm asking so I can have Cole at least respond intelligently.

I did state, in character, that I was going to go through town via Walker. It was made clear via OOC that this was not something cohesive to party facilitation. So, one notification of "we have a giant negative space wedgie that we store things in Wolf, remember?", and he'll hop out.

That would be boring.

You should very definitely go stomping through the town in your giant spider death abomination.

OK so I didn't misinterpret your post after all.

Alright so give me a few minutes and I will have Cole make the IC suggestion. ^_^

I am not. Apparently Cade hopped on it for nothing, unless she intends to relax in the sun whether it is going into town or not. So sad, such is life.

And mine has the old school coloring - it is dark blue. Chaplain absolutely hates the new color scheme.

Re: Sum Up!

Most of the newer Dead Boy armors are, as is their gear. The white fades in the dark, but a better idea would be to not have it do that in the first place, and just stick with old designs - I have a soft spot for the blocky look. My guess is that Prosek looked at the new designs and said, "These look AWESOME! Have a billion credits and make me a million of them by the end of the week! I want to see what a unit wearing these in a military parade in my honor would look like!"

"Do we tell him we cribbed the design for the Super-SAMAS from the Multiversal Legion in South America?"

"I like being alive, so no."

"Of course, your Excellency!"

'Snicker' I see... and yeah I agree.. the neo-classical CSA style was... Ominous and terrifyingly Un-Yielding!
The new stuff looks like they hired H.R. Giger to do their restyling, and really looks like alien gear.. not human made.

Yah, it could have gone just like that.

I prefer the original designs too. The new stuff is too...artsy. the original at least looked like something someone would use in the real-world. The new stuff looks like cosplay for a space anime.

Re: Sum Up!

I recall a plot suggestion when they were teasing the new stuff before Book 11 that there was an extradimensional version of the CSA staging an invasion on Earth, and that would have actually been cool as hell. Show the players what will happen if the Coalition actually wins, and give them an incentive to make sure those events don't happen here.

Who was "they"? Palladium?

And that would have been interesting as an adventure module.

In the new Lazlo (raw) book, Lazlo's army is actively assisting another Earth where the CS and FOM are allied against a Mechanoid invasion.

Re: Sum Up!

Rifts Index and Adventures Part One, which is something I do not have, so I cannot quote a page. All I know is they mentioned Skeleton Raiders or something, which were painted as a big mystery and that the rumor was spread that they were actually CSA troops from another dimension. This is part of why Wolf says that you have to be insane to work at Counter-Intel, because he's convinced they needed to shoot up a lot of drugs to come up with that lie (among others) and expect people to believe it.

...and then people DID believe it, instead of the obvious "CSA is testing new tech," because Rifts is set in an insane world where that would actually be quite plausible.

Re: Sum Up!

In that book the GM is just given information about mysterious "skeleton raiders" who are conducting raids against a variety of targets (generally) outside of CS territory.

The write up posits a main theory that it's the CS field testing new gear, and gives a bunch of rumors and other tidbits a GM could seed players with about the incidents.  It also gives a bunch of "other popular theories" about the origins of the raiders the GM can feed to their players if they want.  A few of them suggest the "skeleton raiders" are raiders from another dimension, alt world CS troopers, Naruni forces, etc, amongst a bunch of other possibilities.

The main encounter suggestion is for a brief one with these "raiders", alongside some strange bedfellows in the form of actual CS troopers, the whole thing is supposed to leave the players with more questions than answers.  There's also a few H,L&S write ups with fake raiders and other red herrings the players might experience.

As with most Rifts adventure write ups it was really just tossing some stuff out there for GMs to work with how they wanted, not a real soup to nuts freestanding type adventure or anything.

Re: Sum Up!

Now, given the power scale Rifts tends to operate on, define the current definition of "epic" using a few example. It doesn't have to actually be epic, because my definition of that might fall under "holy shit."

I'm assuming a 98+ is basically "you just found Excalibur, and it has 1000 Provisions one must obey while it is being wielded, and demands that you show up for a five-hour recitation of its glorious history before you may wield it." Also, Arthur wants his sword back, pretty please.
