1.3  --- The Mauretania --- Nov.6th, 1908

The day begins with the crisp smell of snow and frost on the air, the chill was mild but nevertheless it's a reminder of what's coming.

The Mauritania is huge, a true ocean liner, by the standards of the day. It could transport 2165 passengers, over a thousand of those 3rd class passengers and around 500 of each 2nd and 1st class. An astonishing 802 crew served aboard the British vessel. It's literally the largest and fastest ship in the world right now, with 8 decks. The multi-level first-class dining saloon of straw oak was decorated in Francis I style and topped by a large dome skylight, and a large lavish smoking room and a quash court were just some of the accouterments that the ship offered it's passengers with the right accreditation. A new feature of the day was the Verandah CafĂ© on the boat deck, where passengers were served beverages in a weather-protected environment.

It's an astounding site to see moored at the pier and lines of guests were already filing onboard by the time the team finds the rendezvous location to begin boarding. Penny gives  a ticket, passport and documents necessary for their journey. The gear is already aboard the vessel by this time and all that's left is their personal belongings and changes of clothes, toiletries, etc. Much would be available to them aboard the ship, as you notice that you've all received 2nd class tickets to avoid being exposed to the riff-raff or unsavory elements below decks. The accommodations include a large storeroom supposedly containing several cars, but in reality had been emptied for their own uses Penny says.

With both heartfelt and professional adieus and godspeeds, the Maurentania soon enough set's sail for Paris...

Each of you find your sleeping quarters, though small, quite comfortable. Each held a small bath and lavatory and dresser for your personal belongings for the 5 day journey ahead.

OOC: Feel free to talk amongst yourselves and utilize the storeroom for power useage, the smoking room to socialize with the crew and other passengers if you like. Get to know one another's characters a bit more as well. This is also your opportunity to do some power stunt practice, skeet shooting(aim practice), excercise, etc. I'll be posting updates as needed and I plan to close this thread by Thursday unless everyone decides to vote to press forward.
