Okay, we are topped up!

Anyone else watching the new Xmen 97? I've been enjoying it immensely, proper tribute to great comic stories. ^_^

Re: OOC 2

So true! Of course they do have a pension for speeding through storylines that in the comics are extended out to many issues.

Re: OOC 2

Will have to check it out. I hope I can play a character concept I can do in FASERIP that I can't do in any other system.

Re: OOC 2

My answer to that would be Troubleseeker.

If there is another system out there that can do it like FASERIP, then I'd like to know about it... :o

Re: OOC 2

The concept was possible in FASERIP for two reasons - one there was actually a power that did what the concept called for and wasn’t just an X level power and since power levels didn’t work or at least most of them were very relaxed the one DM I crafted this concept for in game was like sure.

The concept was of a person who was a Bio-Sentinel - in effect the Weapon Plus program before it was actually a thing in Marvel. He and his fellow creations all were deemed failures but were benign and just allowed to live as normal kids. They each developed powers later on - though all were flawed - at by their creators view.

He was a power mimic using Residual Absorption from the Ultimate book. But to power it down he rolled to mimic a single random power from his target. He could then keep it with a green for check result rounds. Yellow minutes. Red minutes, but once that time limited ended he kept that power at rank Fb (2). The red result had to be a natural red with no karma spent to get it there. The only way to boost it was to mimic and get another red from that person or another with the same power each following red would result in +1 to the power until he equaled the person he was mimicking. He could also do it with people who had enhanced FASERIP but didn’t count until the enhanced exceeded his normal abilities. Once he had the power could use it normally to get power stunts.

So the concept was a guy who would end up with like a dozen powers that all were Feeble or Poor and see how he fared with that. Of course he could also roll amazing and get very powerful but that was pretty unlikely.

Woot! Congrats! Keeping the family line strong!

Also: I think troubleseeker was pretty solidified as a power by the time Sam had his turn in Quantum Leap. ^_^

There is this Quirk...

Weirdness Magnet: Strange things happen around your character all the time. Like REALLY strange. Aliens land in their backyard, their dog just happens to be the lost Prince of a Canine Empire, their girlfriend is a shape changing fairy sent to kill them, or maybe something even more bizarre. This can make your character rather unpopular on most teams. This must be approved by your Narrator 4pks.

Re: OOC 2

This sounds quite similar to GURPS, including the name (if memory serves me correctly).

Alas, it looks like FASERIP is still the only place I can get Troubleseeker out of the box...

Re: OOC 2

Lol, it looks like it plays exactly the same as FASERIP on most levels, it uses FASERIPD. 😆

The mechanic is still the same though, with ranks and a table of results. Modifiers to the rank intensity difficulty, etc. I mean it wouldn't take any shoehorning to use the same exact power in the new system. So there's that.
