Across the top is your ranks and each represents a column on the table, hence the stuff about bonuses like +1CS, which is essentially a shift to the right by one column on the table. So for example, if you find the Good column rank (Gd 10) on the table, and you have a +2CS bonus, it would change what rank you roll on to Remarkable (Rm 30). A -1CS modifier would likewise be a shift to the left one column...So just some basic mechanics to understand for this game.

Each of the ranks has a default number for the rank, below that in grey is the stat number ranges for each rank. The rank range of Good for instance, defaults to 10 but encompasses all between 8 and 15. Seems arbitrary but when we come to advancement it will become clearer why it is done this way.
