Hope rested comfortably on tbe floor, her back against tbe wall with eyes closed as tbe others went about their own business. Hope had spent the first 30 minutes looking around (others would call it snooping)....a good thief always had an exit strategy.

When the crashing sound came, she opened her eyes with a slight frown. "That wasn't thunder." she muttered to herself.

...then all he'll broke loose.

The half elf was up, daggers in hand as she ran out the door and to the gate,  one of tbe first of the group there. When she saw the beast, she stopped with a skid. "What, in cyric's left ass cheek is that!" she said just as the rest arrived.

With the commander issuing orders, she was impressed with the discipline of the archers. For a small town, they were well trained - though I guess with what was happening they had to be.

With the scream of children, Hopes head snapped around, memories of the night she met Fina came flooding back. Even as the small woman moved, so to did hope, daggers in hand. No one, not even her halfling friend, had seen her this quiet or focused.

He groans at the thunder before he sits up knowing full well that wasn't thunder, hoping to his feet he grabbed his shield hefted his axe, and headed for the door. There was no questioning where the warrior was gonna throw himself, right in to the thick of it.

As he's directed he dashes after the Halfling placing himself as basically a shield brother would, right at her side shield ready. Though he didn't have the training to shield another he was still ready to hit back.


Dashing to get into position with Oraphina shield up and ready to strike once I have another action lol

Grune runs as quickly as he can manage to break off some of the raiders before they reach the children.

"Ye shall go no further, make peace with yer damnable gods!"

The raiders surge forward no one near enough to stop them, until a blue icy beam streaks through the air smashing into the side of the head of the lead raider, who stumbles and slows as his head becomes incased in ice.

Grune and Hope race forward, the dwarf managing to arrive in time enough to harry one of the raiders while Hope manages to strike him in the side with a dagger. (Sorry grune everyone had to dash action over there, so unless you have an ability like Hope's cunning action, you wont be able to attack this turn, unless you wanted to stop short and use sacred flame.)

Einar and Oraphina also bolt forward taking up a position ahead of the raiders almost as a bulwark.

The raiders quickly change from their intended target to their new foes. Moving to try and envelop them; however splitting their forces to cover both sets of attackers has prevented them from obtaining a complete surround against either group.

Even though they were unable to surround their new foes, they did not hesitate to attack, slashing mercilessly at our heroes.

Grune gets slashed across his face as another scimitar drives into one of his shins. (6dmg two separate attacks 3, 1, each +1)

Oraphina also takes a blow from one the raiders, their scimitar finding purchase in her arm.(4dmg)

Korym's eyes widen as the raiders encircle his companions...the urge to run into combat wells up...but he knows he would not be helpful in the role.

"Radius Gelu!" Another bolts launches at the same target; bit aim is off and the icy blast slams harmlessly into the side of the stables.

Korym Nightstar rolled 10 for Ray of Frost.

Fighting at the side of the dwarves cleric, Hope really wanted to be by Oraphina’s side, but saw Einstein at her side, so she was content to help the cleric. With daggers in hand, she made a flourish of movement, her left hand leading, narrowly missing the injured one. While her left hand missed, her right hand hit solidly on the raider.

Grune smiles as the blood runs down his face an into to mouth. The dwarf swings his warhammer low attempting to take out a leg or knee of one of the raiders. Bringing his foe down to his level Grune will follow up with an overhead strike to the head of the raider on the following turn.

Einar can't help but growl he always thought his defenses were good but apparently he's not as great as he thought. But he holds his ground with his new Halfling ally and takes a swing back at the one that struck him, but he's worn down after constant battles all day.

Oraphina stood her ground against the raiders, managing to parry a number of blows with her shield and divert another which was aimed for Einar before one bit into her arm just below the shoulder.  She winced in pain but redoubled her efforts, slicing upward with a rapier attack against her assailant with all the fury of a wronged Halfling behind it.

As Korym's spell slings off into the distance, Grune and Hope press their assault, while Grune is unable to land a blow himself, he is able to set up one of the raiders for Hope's assault. With a flurry of knifework, Hope lands a deadly stab to the man's side, he grabs at the wound stumbling backward a bit before falling to the ground.

Fatigued, and running on empty in almost every way Einar does his best to keep his fight up, but his muscles are screaming at him, and he unable to strike the any of the raiders pressing him.

Oraphina seeing Einar's fatigued state redoubles her effort, thrusting with her rapier, and blocking with her shield, she is almost a one woman phalanx. It isn't long before she is able to back one of the raiders off balance and, she lets her rapier loose straight through the man's neck. He falls grasping at the spraying wound and gurgling.

The raiders continue their assault against the group having moved to flanking positions against Grune, Einar, and Oraphina; but none of them are able to land any blows of consequence, the odd rapier slice hitting a shield, or sliding harmlessly off of armor.

Hope, seeing the raider move, pressed her advantage, dropping to one knee and slicing up out of pure instinct as they move to attack the dwarf, slicing his leg. Pressing the advantage, she stood, twirling with her daggers, the first one grazing armor, the second landing a solid blow close to major organs.

"Ye lot wer lookin' for playmates? I'll be your playmate!" Grune roars.

"Stand firm!" she bellowed (well, as much as a three-foot tall Halfling can bellow), continually parrying blows with her shield.  When one of the raiders tried to step around her to get closer to where the children were staying, she slashed her blade across his calves to hobble him, then thrust upward with the weapon go try and catch him under the ribcage.  At first the point was stopped by a buckle on the man's armor, but in a stroke of luck slid to the side at the last moment and maybe, just maybe pierced between two ribs.

None the less he raises his shield and continues to deflect any of the blows coming his way. He growls deeply agreeing with his new halfling ally. "Doing my best here but most of us around here are running on empty"

Once more Korym's frosty magic zooms by one of the raiders missing him, while Oraphina and Hope are busy ending the lives of two of them. Grune for his part brings his hammer down hard on the foot of the raider to his left, who then proceeds to scream out in pain.

Begin Round 4 ----

The raiders around Grune learn from their fallen comrade and choose to move more carefully around Grune and Hope, taking only small steps as they reposition around the Dwarf. The raider to his left moving behind him while the other moves to take his ally's spot. This allows them to take advantage of Grune's inability to defend from all sides, and as a result all three are able to land blows against the dwarf, one of the attacks landing and slashing deep across his neck.(5ft move to avoid another devistating AoO, and three hits, one crit. 10dmg!)

The raiders flanking Einar take advantage of Oraphina's dropped defense and strike out at the barbarian, one catching him in the shoulder and the other across his back. (6dmg) While the now thawed and injured raider presses against Oraphina in an attempt to capitalize on her sudden split in attention, while striking his ally, but is unable to get through the small woman's chainmail armor.

Hope, seeing the raider move, swipes instinctively with her dagger, finding purchase only on his armor. As she turns full circle, she steps forward, lunging both daggers in a fierce stab to the man.

Korym Nightstar rolled 15 for 8 damage with Ray of Frost. If he's not dead, his speed is reduced until Korym's next turn.

Oraphina continued parrying blows as best she could, and a spinning lunge with her sword against the attacker flanking Einar appeared to be on-target.  She did seem to be becoming more worried about the state of her comrades, although (and probably because) she was in no position to help any of them other than to ward blows away from her teammate next to her.

Grune adjusts the warhammer within his grip and pulls it up skyward as one of the raider attacks his flank. As raider retreats from his attack Grune brings the hammer down hard into his chest.

"Ye much of buffoons, yearlings make better playmates that the lot of ye."

It's clear that Einar is doing all he can just to stand on the battle field as each of his swings does little more than bounc off armor, or just miss completly. He lets out a deep growl as another wound is placed upon his back, he's gonna run outta blood to bleed at this rate.

Korym's silent prayer having been heard leads one of his frosty bolts into the back of the injured raider assaulting Grune dropping him with a spray of snowflakes raining down around him.

Hope seeing her initial target felled turns her attention to the other flanking raider on Grune and with a grace and finesse rarely seen, she takes his life, and makes it look easy.

Unhappy with his recent playmates manners, Grune slams his hammer into his foe's chest with a sickening crunching noise as he breaks some ribs.

Hope manages a solid blow against her enemy. "Fuck you bitch!" He shouts to her in response, while Einar continues to wane.

Struggling to breath and clutching at his chest; the raider Grune struck rights himself and swings as hard as he can. "I will end you for that dwarf!" He says as best he can while wheezing; the blade he swings slashes deep into Grune (7dmg)

The injured raider who is focusing on Oraphina strikes out with his scimitar his blade once more sliding across her armor, probably too dull to draw blood anymore after the number of times he has raked it across her metal armor.

The raiders sensing weakness from the faltering barbarian press their attack. Oraphina kicks one of the raiders in the shin mid swing, causing him to lose his balance and miss. His ally however manages to land his blow into the back of the neck of the barbarian. (Crit 11dmg)
