Is that a general consensus to head up to the ruins? It's what it looks like but I don't want to assume that's the plan if it's not on account of the multitude of death traps.

Think we just need actions from Cavalier and Skitterlung to proceed with things. I'll hold out a couple more days and then assume it's just a standard attack action and take it from there.

Just to check with the plan to hide. Gren's hole digging works for me but how long are you intending to stay there? Are you planning to wait for a bit in the hope the thing moves away or are you planning to spend the night?

Well gren is happy to spend the night underground :)

Also this creature might be a night hunter  so perhaps holding up might be a good idea

If Kaine managed to find a tree to hide behind, he would prefer to climb up the tree and hide there, rather than in the hole.

Right, after a shipwreck and two nights in a monster filled jungle I think that's enough to qualify the characters for a promotion to Level 1 and the start of their Novice Path!

Obviously there's no formal training to be had but I figure for this step it's going to be natural aptitude and the school of hard knocks which got them there.

Feel free to discuss what paths you wish to take now we're a little into the game though I don't mind if there's duplication of one or more paths; I'm not too fussed if we're not balanced in that sense. Once you've decided if you want to PM me (or put it here, whatever works) the upgrades you've picked I'll make sure the character sheets are updated.

Well, I've been gunning for Warrior for my Novice Path. I have been looking at the other paths, and as I lean now, I would go Fighter and into Dreadnaught. Just be a big beefy automata-boy.

No offense meant at all, but I really like the ruleset and as this is the only active SotDL game here I want more opportunity to play, play, play

Anyhow it will be Mage for me for sure; if its ok with you GM I will just play it as Kaine having been a mage from the get go (which fits his background), he just didn't have an opportunity (or desire) to use his magic as of yet. Not to mention he doesn't know what the reaction from his companions to his using sorcery will be.

Gren will be mage to but all his spells are earth based I'll be playing him as if the connection with the earth is slowly becoming active so his magical abilities will be new and amazing to him

Oh, Skitterlung doesn't trust witches, but he is also remarkably cowardly about confronting witches. Also, he's beginning to get past his prejudices slowly, so he should accept it before long, especially if Gren is also going down that route.

Sounds good to me. I think with the first advancement there is much less 'formal training' needed as much as 'realising potential'.

I'm happy to increase the posting speed if everyone is up for it. The combat slowed things down a bit (as play by post combat is wont to do) but there might not be another combat for a bit - subject to how things go down in the house!

Just to check is the plan that Skitterlung sneaks off prior to lunch or are you intending to all go to lunch and for him to disappear off at some later point?

I had been meaning to ask the same thing, actually, although my weekend ended up being dedicated to personal matters rather than this game.

I would say it's up to Skitterlung. If Fran comes before Skitterlung returns (or gets caught!) the rest of the party could cover for him (say he was on a bathroom break or something ;) )

Kaine had been considering doing some sneaking himself but perhaps later on when the house occupants aren't wandering about, also it would depend on what Skitterlung finds out.
