Samantha and James were downstairs, and James appeared to be climbing up on a counter in an effort to get at certain foods, probably primarily that sugary cereal.

"Hey, no need for that, I'm here," Elizabeth said as she went to the fridge.

As she got out food, she could hear Samantha shushing her younger brother in that older-sister way.

"Is something wrong?" Elizabeth asked.

"...Just keeping SOMEBODY out of the syrup!" called Samantha.

"You don't need syrup. I'm doing bacon, eggs and toast," Elizabeth said.

"I want fruit!" called Alex.  He went after anything remotely sweet every chance he could get.

"You can have a piece of fruit, but you need more than that," Elizabeth said.

There was grumbling, but soon breakfast was ready and had disappeared quickly.

"Oh, Lisbeth, why do you have horns and a tail?" asked Samantha.

"Cosplay?" Alex added.

"Huh? I really have them? It wasn't a dream?" Elizabeth asked.

"Well, yeah," said Samantha.  "They're kinda right there."

"Wait, then that really means I was visited by a demon ancestor last night?" Elizabeth asked no one in particular.

"...demon ancestor?" asked Samantha.  "Does that mean that we're all demons!"

"I'm a demon!  GRRRRRRRR!" snarled Alex.

"Probably a bit, but I'm like her reincarnation...," Elizabeth said. "I'm a bit overwhelmed at the moment."

"...I don't know if I followed all that, but what are you going to do about it?" Samantha asked.

"I don't know, but for now I have to get you two to school," Elizabeth said.

The children grumbled, but soon everybody was off to school.

That was a relief, probably the best she made their lunches the night before. Elizabeth headed to school herself.

Elizabeth made it home.  Her siblings were fighting over the remote.

"Hey now, what's going on?" Elizabeth asked.

It appeared that there was a fundamental difference over which Disney Plus show they would be watching now, translated from children shouting over each other.

"If everyone doesn't calm down, no one will be watching TV," Elizabeth said.

They reluctantly calmed down.

"...So what are we going to watch?"

"Is it a show or movie you guys want to watch? If it's a show we'll do one or the other. If it's movies, we'll have to do one tonight and one tomorrow," Elizabeth said.

It appeared to be a war between Clone Wars and The Owl House.

Elizabeth dug out a coin from her pockets.

"Someone call it," she said as she flipped it.

They both called heads at once, glared at each other, and her brother finally said, "Fine, Tails."

Elizabeth flipped the coin.

(ooc: heads is one, 2 is tails - heads)

"Yay!" said her sister, and they put on the Clone Wars.

"You may have lost the toss, but you get to pick the snack," Elizabeth said to her brother.

Apparently they would be having popcorn.  Not the worst choice.

Elizabeth went to make it and melt some butter.

Soon it was ready, to great appreciation from her siblings.

Elizabeth went to make lunches and get things ready for tomorrow.

Easily done, but there was light coming from the mirror in her bedroom...

Elizabeth went to see what it was.

Her siblings were still engrossed in the TV, luckily.

"You guys need anything?" she asked.

"Not now!  Lightsabre fight!" said her brother around a mouthful of popcorn.

Elizabeth sat down and sighed.

The children were busy watching a lightsaber fight and eating popcorn; it would keep them busy for some time.

Elizabeth tried to relax.

Soon her parents returned, leaving Elizabeth free for other things.

She headed to her room to do some reading before bed.

Suddenly, a text!

Carly: I got you a meeting!  Tonight, at 10!  At the church! :) <3 <3 <3

Thanks she texted back.

Elizabeth waited for the time before leaving.

Elizabeth made it home, and the dragon hadn't destroyed her!

Elizabeth headed to her room and flopped down on her bed.

>Yeah, went OK.

> What happened?  She's not trying to kill you now-- did you make friends?

>Yeah, we made peace.

> Cool.  Introduce me sometime!

>Okay, I will.

> So do you think she'll help you if you get in trouble?

>I'm not sure, I hope so.

>Yeah, tired.

Elizabeth put her phone down and fell asleep.

Her siblings were underfoot as always; it also appeared that a bag with something in it had been hung on the doorknob of the front door.

Elizabeth opened the bag to see what was in there.

...pastries, oddly.  Fairly nice ones, too.

That was odd. Did they look okay or that there was something wrong with them?

There were no signs of problems with them.

Elizabeth tried one.

...peach flavored, apparently.  Good quality, too.

Elizabeth decided to hide them until she was sure they were 100% safe for the rest of the family.

Perhaps that was a wise decision.  And her siblings were stirring...

Elizabeth began to make some breakfast.

They came thundering downstairs.

"...what smells like peaches?" one asked.

"I don't know what you mean," Elizabeth said. "I'm making bacon and eggs."

"Yay, bacon!" said Alex, but Samantha was still looking around suspiciously.

"Something wring?" Elizabeth asked her.

"...just thought I smelled fruit," said Samantha.  "Kids need fruit and veggies, you know."

"Sadly, not today. You can have an apple if you want," Elizabeth said.

She sighed dramatically, but ate the apple with great enthusiasm.

"Your lunches are made and everything as usual," Elizabeth said. "Can I trust you two to lock up?"

"All right," said Samantha.  Clearly she intended to take charge of her brother for this purpose.

"I'm heading to school early, so be good you two," Elizabeth said.

"We will!" Samantha promised.  Her intentions were good, at least...

Elizabeth headed to school.
