No. I have my own NPC, Astrid's mentor. I'll use him to send her on missions sometimes.

It'd still be a step over the GMs who play a character in their own game, and pretend to be a separate person!     I've run into that now & then.   You begin to see signs -- identical writing & posting styles, incredible luck with the die roller. Disproportionate role in the story, with boundless praise from npcs.

Birahu may be a master of time, but alas, he could do nothing to fix Astrid's punctuality.    Should have saved a proficiency slot for sundials!  ;)

I'm pretty much done, but happy to have till sunday to further think & tweak.    Coming in, I thought I'd just play an 'Elf', and it would be simple.   The amount of choices allowed needed some thought!   (not complaining, though)

Gad I hate player characters run by the GM, more often than not they are the only ones allowed to do anything interesting. Not a one of the GM's who do it seem to realize they are doing it either, they all deny such behavior.

I also dislike games where the GM is dating or married to one of the players. Ick.

Did you come from the same game as Birahu and I, by chance?   

I could see where that might be a problem, though I've had experiences where a spouse or other in the game wasn't a big deal.  That wasn't on Rpol, however.

I've seen entire worlds change shape and flavor because the GM's girlfriend read a book. Given the option, I would avoid it, just on general principle.

Almost done with my spells! We'll get started when I finish them.

Is everyone ready? I haven't seen the whole crew ready to go. I guess I could start today, though I'll probably be heading to bed in a few hours.

My characters don't have the finer points of equipment, but are basically ready.

I have a background for Dain in mind just haven't inserted it.

My roommate, the Greyhawk expert, excellent DM and friend, is in the hospital with failing kidneys. I'll still post tomorrow morning but I will be distracted a bit. Worried about him!

Yes and no, function dropped by 50% in 2 months but he has Kidney Disease and diabetes and Prostate Cancer. All is/was supposed to be treatable and in early stages, and mostly controllable. Went to hell in 2 months.
