OK, given the need, I will make a cleric.

If we are allowed a second character, I'll make him a fighter.  But this one is a cleric.

And, he will be male.  His name will not be Annie; it will be Caedfel.  ("Cal" to his friends.)

Sounds like fun. Are you familiar with Cadfael? Books and a TV show. Good stuff.

Not the books, but the BBC series.

And by adopting his name, I'm adopting some of his background.

Awesome! This game seems to have a lot of potential, we might be brewing something pretty good here with any luck.

I watched it so long ago when it was first running in the '90s.  Now I want to go watch them again.

I remember the general concept, and that's basically all I'm cribbing.  So no accusations that I'm not being faithful to the books. :)

I had a character named with an ap Cadfael on his name, son of Cadfael. Can't remember what his actual name though.

I just realized that I didn't spell it right.

Just the first separation between me and the "real" guy!

I guess that one isn't really a question  . . . except to the extent that it asks for confirmation that we can have a second character, or is the game going to be overstuffed?

Clerics can use slings, starting money max. Dain will be welcome! Yes you can have 2 if you want. Some people prefer to stick with one and can't do two, that is fine. It will be nine, 3 players run one 3 players run two, I think is okay.

Binding Wounds or using a poultice can give back up to 1d3 hp of healing.

Poultice costs 3gp 1d3 hp back
Bandages cost  1sp 1 hp back

AD&D was a very fatal system, this is to help you live a little longer.

Hurrah for poultices!    Caedful and Piestar can load them into their slings, and perform long range healing!   (*splat*)

Yes, I do remember seeing that show -- it was pretty good.  I never read the books.

Your character's sort of a worldly, renaissance kind of a guy, who takes a sleuth like approach?  Something like that?

That was the "real" Cadfael, and there is a bit of that.  The biggest aspect I'm stealing is the former-warrior-turned-priest.

Hey, I recognize your "pages from the mages" table.   It's from Jill's game!    Which is fine, if you asked; no reason to reinvent the wheel.

But --  those are 2nd edition spells.   That's to say, the MU and illusionist spells are mixed together.

For example, in 1E phantasmal force is (I think) a 3rd level MU spell.    Do you want us to use the 2E list?    Because I am taking phantasmal force, if available...
