Re: OOC: Character Generation

Armor doesn't count towards encumberance right?

Good question. I assumed that it did. What is the ruling on worn items? I mean, just because you wear them it doesn't mean that they become weightless, right?

They count too, yes. Leather is Light, plate & chain are Heavy, the others are normal weight.

In reply to Narrator (msg # 40):

I got Successful Heist from the Legends book, it grants a valuable find from a lair, reroll if under a 33. Gonna roll here so no one thinks I just picked the most valuable item lol...

18:49, Today: Jonb failed (no successes) using 2d6 with the Target Number system with a target of 6 ((5,3)).

So 53... A Tapestry, heavy item, worth 5D6 silver.

18:51, Today: Jonb rolled 14 using 5d6 ((2,1,5,3,3)).

Fun! I get to lug around an expensive and HEAVY tapestry worth 14 silver.

Rogue also gets d10 silver

19:06, Today: Jonb rolled 6 using 1d10 ((6)).

Re: OOC: Character Generation

Can I assume that on the sheet Thief is meant to be Rogue? Maybe a change in the second print? That's the only one I have know by the way.

Re: OOC: Character Generation

After having some time to sit down and play with the character sheet I must say job well done! It's intuitive, easy to read and clean. One suggestion if I may. Flip the damage and bonus under equipment to match the book. Question as well, what's the bit to the right of the Relationships block for? Mounts?

Yes, Jonb, I think it is for Mounts. Seems to have the right attributes for it.

Re: OOC: Character Generation

How would you like to do starting silver and gear purchases during character creation?

In reply to NAnderson (msg # 46):

I sold all the equipment I received through the rolls and used it to buy other stuff. Downgraded my longbow to a short bow as it seemed to fit my character better and upgraded my knife to a dagger. Also paid for a backpack, a blanket, flint & steel and some basic armor. Ended up with 9 copper left, so I'm almost skint =D

Re: OOC: Character Generation

In reply to Eldhierta (msg # 47):

A backpack is assumed to be something you would have already, shouldn't have to buy one. I could be mistaken though.

pg 36

In addition to these items, you are assumed
to have a knapsack and a waterskin. Gear used to
carry other gear does not count toward your encumbrance
and does not need to be noted down.

Knapsack is a different term for backpack.

In Swedish it's "ränsel" which is closer to a satchel. But hey, I'll take a free backpack any day =)

Re: OOC: Character Generation

Yeah, backpack and waterskin are free.

I'm going to say you can buy any Common items with starting silver, but Uncommon ones need to be bought in-game.

Just take the maximum roll for your Profession, there's plenty time to loose it all later ;)

Anybody have 1 Silver they can lend me?  There's a throwing axe in the shop that perfectly fits my hand.  It's simply too good to pass up.  I promise to pay you back.  I'll even volunteer teach you a skill as interest :)

You get 2 general talents as Adult, so you'd have one spare after you bumped up your Profession Talent by 1.

Okay, so from what I can see we are ready to go.

Everyone's sheets are correct and I've also changed your names to match your characters.

I'll lock this thread once we start the game, I guess I might need to reopen it if anyone dies of course..

Re: OOC: Character Generation

Keep in mind that a lot of the weapons and armors in this are uncommon or scarcer in rarity, so unless you received the items from your background they would be hard to find at the local market. You can check an item's rarity in the gear lists at the end of the book, right before the tables for critical injuries.

Can you update your Sheet with these items? It's still showing Longbow etc.

Thanks.
