Re: OOC: Journeys

11:50, Today: Caile rolled 1 success using 1d12 with the Target Number system with a target of 3 with rolls of 4.  Water roll (rolled the wrong size of die).

11:48, Today: Caile rolled 1 success using 1d8 with the Target Number system with a target of 3 with rolls of 4.  Water roll.

11:48, Today: Caile failed (no successes) using 1d8 with the Target Number system with a target of 3 with rolls of 2.  Food roll.

Reduced my Food Die one step.

I vote for the long route. That castle could hold more allies or treasures/artifacts that could aid us in our quest.

05:57, Today: Brevis rolled 1 success using 1d8 with the Target Number system with a target of 3 with rolls of 4.  Food roll.

05:57, Today: Brevis rolled 1 success using 1d10 with the Target Number system with a target of 3 with rolls of 3.  Water roll.

I agree that the long route would make good sense.  Brevis is likely very tempted to push the faster route.  If we wanna do a quick show of hands here, Brevis will go along with majority vote.

23:03, Today: Eyrar rolled 1 success using 1d8 with the Target Number system with a target of 6.  Water roll.

Reduced my food dice one step

Eyrer suggests the shorter route because there is no telling what destiny that awaits your captive friends. On the other hand Eyrer is new to the group and will let you decide.

Re: OOC: Journeys

In reply to Eyrar (msg # 37):

For resource die, your target should be 3 or higher, not 6. Just so you don't lose your supplies too fast :)

That tally is a bit misleading though, since Eyrar just joined and will defer to the group's decision and Brevis by your own words will go with the majority. So it's more like:

Undecided: 2 (Brevis, Eyrar)
Long: 1 (Caile)

Re: OOC: Journeys

@Eyrar, you make the scout roll yourself, yes.

Also, we should all make an endurance roll to keep up with Harinder.

16:34, Today: Caile failed (no successes) using 4d6 with the Target Number system with a target of 6 with rolls of 1,5,3,1.  ENDURANCE roll for forced march.

I failed mine. Ain't pushing double ones ':D

Why no push of the skill/bonus dice? Extra successes can be used to help others. *hint hint*

Okay, anyone failing their Endurance check takes 1 Agility damage and can't continue Hiking... Need to Rest or Sleep.

What's the rest of the party doing? Alachran and Heldemin both passed their tests of course.

By my reckoning you've made it to V-23 before those that failed their Endurance checks need to stop.

Those that passed, let me know if you're carrying on or waiting also?

Re: OOC: Journeys

My bad with the shouldering, misremembered the rules. Additional successes for a Forced March-roll may not be used to aid other party members. Those that fail the roll suffer as per Narrator's post above. Those that succeed can choose to steam ahead or stop and rest with the ones who have to take a breather.

Re: OOC: Journeys

Staying with the group, if needed. Don't we have two successes to share, then, covering 2 failed rolls of others?

--

On the rules - Im pretty sure I cant roll push skill/bonus dice (and dont take damage from the skill die 1s), only attribute and gear dice. Or do I misremember? I can look it up later, but if Im shouted down I bend ;)

Re: OOC: Journeys

In reply to Harinder (msg # 57):

Just started two new jobs, so I might be a bit inactive for a while. Just so you know where I'm at.

As for the extra successes; in some cases and for some skills you can use additional successes to make up for the failure of others. But Forced March is not one of those cases. Everyone makes a roll, if you fail you have overexerted yourself, suffer 1 damage to AGI and must rest/sleep.

And as for the rules; when you want to push a skill roll you re-roll all dice that don't show a symbol, be they attribute, skill, bonus, gear or artifact dice. So if the dice isn't showing skulls (1s on attribute and gear dice) or swords (6s on attribute, skill, bonus and gear dice and 6-12s on artifact dice) you must/may re-roll them if you push the roll.
