Re: OOC Thread

Carl Lumbly has a great voice but I don't think that I can write like he talks. There's something about him that I just don't feel I can replicate.

I guess we'll see, though.

Got two new player submissions. I'm afraid it's time to close submissions. I think more than six might be a bit much...

Got Spidey's character description done, so I think I'm ready to go with this game. How're we doing GM?

Okay, I think we got things generally worked out. The 6th character is a bit of a wild card compared to the rest of you-- the only one of you who wanted to make his own new character...!

I hope we might be able to start tomorrow...

Any questions so far? If so, ask 'em now...

Also (see above), everyone put your hp and sp in your bio lines, like this:

hp: 18/18 || sp: 12/12        (or whatever they are.)

If there's room, you might want to keep track of your xp that way, too:

xp: 0

Otherwise, just get ready to keep track of xp on your character sheet (it's your responsibility)!

Not electrical. A demon with an unusual take on... healing.

Welcome new players!

Dont suppose the Rider might be familiar with Malkos? Or vise-versa?

In reply to The Rider (msg # 39):

Up to you. Malkos is pretty new (and has amnesia regarding his past, both in the current setting and the former modern world). He had no powers, nor was he demonic, before the world was changed.

If we do know each other, than the Rider knows that Malkos is tied to a particular location and has to return to it regularly.

In reply to Malkos the Black (msg # 40):

The Rider is not a friend to most demons, as they seek to spill innocent blood...of those they can't corrupt of course. Does Malkos' body show up on the Rider's 'innocent blood radar'?

Re: OOC Thread

In reply to The Rider (msg # 41):

Since I don't know the parameters your 'innocent blood radar' scans for, I can't reliably answer that.

The location he's tied to is a castle (former apartment building) where he is the dungeon master (apartment manager) tending to maintaining and stocking it for visiting heroes. He's not interested in really harming folks, but does need suffering for his own food and tries to cultivate a reputation as being far more monstrous of a person than he actually is.

Re: OOC Thread

In reply to Malkos the Black (msg # 42):

It's more intentional plans to cause real suffering. You could step on a child's foot by accident, and the rider most likely wont come after you.

Really the question is would an innocent person want you to pay for your crimes against them-living or dead? Its sounds like a no...

Re: OOC Thread

Probably not. Though they might think I've done crimes that I haven't.

Unless things such as catching a rabbit and terrifying the bunnyberries out of it for supper (followed by nicely petting and feeding it before letting it go free) count?

That's sounds more like fear. They have to want vengeance against you. For the most part that requires you to do something more than just scaring them.

In reply to The Rider (msg # 45):

He doesn't do that without their consent. Or their adventuring in his dungeon (after all, you expect to have fiendish traps and malevolent curses in one, don't you?).

I think.

There could be wives who think that they are widowed because their man didn't come back from the dungeon (and is paying off his resurrection serving as one of the monsters), on the other hand.

Re: OOC Thread

In reply to Malkos the Black (msg # 46):

That would be revenge, not vengence. Granted it being a distinction without a difference, but for the purposes of what draws the rider is intent and the actual deed itself.

So even if they blame you for getting thier husbands killed, and even if they polt to harm you, it's not 'vengence'. Due to the fact you are not directly responsible-the rider cannot be called to destroy you.

I'm sure they have lots of others who would gladly do soemthing awful however...

...Ohhhhhh. So that's what you meant in your backstory. I did sort of wonder what you were talking about...

...I don't... think the world changed, like that.

I was just referring to the Kulan Gath storyline to give the idea of "characters you know, but translated into sword-and-sorcery."

...I don't think I want it to have worked that way.

I think this world has just always been like this.

...I... can't really... I mean... I guess... What could even... I guess the Infinity Gauntlet could do it? I guess?

Jeepers, did someone hand Conan the Infinity Gauntlet? (...And a really big keg of very hard liquour?)

I guess I could barely believe in that...

Yeah, but the WHOLE planet? And bringing in the DCU AND affecting beings like Darkseid, Galactus...?

Hmm. Maybe we'll discover the truth of this world on the way...

*recalls the time the world had "Galactus, Bringer of Gifts" as the embodiment of Christmas*

*also recalls the time that Darkseid was caught working behind the counter at a McDonalds*

Re: OOC Thread

Maybe Kulan collaborated with Circe to cast a larger “time warp” spell? She’s into transmogrification, illusions, and conspiracies of lies.
