Re: IN-GAME THREAD: PARTE PRIMUS

The Rider:
From the rubble of the wall, the Rider once again smashes free of the broken stone. His burning chain lashes out, wrapping around Black Adam and pulling him down once more.

OOC:
10:37, Today: The Rider rolled 3 using 1d4 with rolls of 3.  Less damage from counterattacks.

10:37, Today: The Rider rolled 8 using 2d6+3 with rolls of 1,4.  Regrapple Black Adam.

The chain wraps around Black Adam's left arm, but Black Adam isn't exactly hogtied. He decides to take the battle to The Rider again, since he seems to want it so badly...

(GM rolls dice...)

Black Adam hurts The Rider, but not as much as he's capable of doing.

(The Rider takes 4 new damage. (Did you remember to regenerate 1 last post, though?))

Re: IN-GAME THREAD: PARTE PRIMUS

In reply to The GM (msg # 483):

The Rider takes the blow, but when you are dealing with a burning skeleton its hard to tell when its hurt badly or not.

(OOC-Rider regen happened with my deleted post, and Included the total in my current HP count. I also take 3 less of the 4 damage Black Adam hits me with, and so I only take 1. Also included in the HP count.

I assume Black Adam killed a lot of innocent people after he wiped out his former country, right?)

(Re: your math: Yep, your math all checks out with me!

Re: Black Adam: Mm, this fantasy Black Adam hasn't had the same history as the one you're used to. Especially since I am hardly familiar with his post-Crisis origins at all.

BUUUUUT if you're asking "does this guy seem like the kind of hard-boiled dude who might have innocent blood on his hands," then I would say that The Rider's Sin-Radar leans vaguely toward Yeah Maybe.)

Fin Fang Foom sniffs. "...You are not a dragon... but you are of the lizardfolk, one of those who made the rings in ancient times... Why do you pretend to be like me? Why have I been awakened? Speak-- and speak true!"

"You have been awakened to serve evil and darkness," Manhunter explained. The second dragon vanished, as maintaining the illusion would likely only anger Fin Fang Foom further. "I stand for what is good and light in this world, and thus bid you to return to your well-deserved slumber."

Fin Fang Foom hears this. "...That tiny tome summoned me here...? Who is this... Von Doom...?"

The wizard Diana speaks to freezes... He looks toward Von Doom, and starts to point his way...

"I am Doom," says that person.

(GM rolls good sense for Von Doom: ...Fail.)

"I used that book to bring you here, yes, to serve me, Doom, Monarch of Latveria! Shall you obey...?"

"...I shall not," says Fin Fang Foom.

"How can this be?" says Von Doom, as shocked as if his date had slapped him. "I cannot have mis-cast the spell!" His eyes turn to the Manhunter. "You! This must be your doing! You have freed him from his servitude! Mayhap your destruction shall return him to his rightful state!"

Doom unleashes a blast of arcane energy at the Manhunter.

(GM rolls dice... The Manhunter takes 1 new damage.)

Fin Fang Foom looks at the Manhunter. To anyone else it would not even register as much of an expression. To the Manhunter, it looks like it means: You gonna take that from him...?

In reply to Fin Fang Foom (msg # 491):

The Rider steps in front of the Manhunter, spinning his red-hot chain like a fiery shield. This causes Doom's own blast to hurtle back into the arrogant armored wizard.

"Your end will be long in the coming..." The Rider hissed with a voice like burning sparks at Doom. "...as every scheme has now been undone."

OOC-Spending 2 from Hold.

1-Makes himself target of attack.

2-Foe takes half damage from my attack.

11:56, Today: The Rider rolled 7 using 1d6+2 with rolls of 5.  Damage.

Doom takes 4(as it says round up.)

Rider takes 1 damage, and heals one damage.

With an equally subtle expression, Manhunter seemed to reply, "I have people for that."

Re: IN-GAME THREAD: PARTE PRIMUS

Doom is staggered to his knees. He's not dead; he's not even unconscious-- but it wouldn't take much to knock him out at this point. He's had a rough day.

(GM rolls good sense check for Black Adam: success)

Black Adam decides that there's nothing to be gained by working for Von Doom any more at this point-- he attempts to flee the scene.

(GM rolls Agile for Pyro: success)

Pyro, meanwhile, has come to that decision a little faster, and has already slipped away without anyone noticing...

In reply to The GM (msg # 494):

As Doom staggers back, the burning chain wraps around him and drags him close to the Rider. "You...you who has sacrificed so many to the altar of your ambition. Heedless of the cost to the innocent. Know their pain, and see what you have wrought!" Came the hissing voice from the skull.

The eye sockets which carried two orbs of burning flame sear their energies into Doom's eyes. Making him know the suffering of his victims, and the anguish they feel...even those who have died. Especially those...

OOC:
12:08, Today: The Rider rolled 11 using 2d6+3 with rolls of 4,4.  Its clobbering time on Doom.

Before I roll the damage, should I do it as a standard HP damage, stress, or would this just be a 'finishing move' to put him down?

Rider regens 1 HP.

(Hmm... I think more of a finishing move, really. Shall I go ahead and narrate it, therefore...?

Also: anyone wanna try to stop Black Adam leaving, or not so much...?)

OOC-Feel free to narrate it. As I am busy with Doom, I am not in a position to stop Black Adam. Especially because I used the defend maneuver and foes running away and not attacking does not seem to cause my 1 remaining hold to activate.

(Diana gains 1 new xp... but takes -1 forward on her next roll due to embarrassment... AND will take -1 on her next roll if she ever faces Black Adam again.)

"...NOW THEN... I GROW WEARY OF THESE TRIVIAL MATTERS... IF HE WHO SUMMONED ME HERE HAS BEEN DEFEATED, LET THAT SAME TOME SEND ME BACK TO MY SLUMBER... QUICKLY...!" announces/threatens the giant dragon...

(The fellow with the white hair wearing the golden amulet can use the book to send Fin Fang Foom back... if there are no objections/delays...?)

The Manhunter landed, and then sat down on the ground. He let out a long, slow breath.

"I don't consume spirits," he said, "but I somehow feel like staring at a mug of ale while I reconsider my life choices."

Re: IN-GAME THREAD: PARTE PRIMUS

The Rider's burning skull stared down at Doom, and made a fist with a burning hand. It then glanced at Diana, and then back at Doom. The spirit drops Doom to the ground, letting him suffer with the pain of others he has caused. The rider stood silently for a few seconds, the bones reknitting and restoring. Then the fire on the skeletal being seems to go out, with skin and hair quickly regrowing.

Blaze stood before the heroes and the mage, rubbing his temples and shaking his head. "I will drink any ale you choose to pass on. I could certainly use a few mugs."

Black Adam’s escape wounded Diana’s pride. She resolved herself to intensify her Amazon training so she wouldn’t repeat her mistake again. “Yes,” she said with a slow nod. “We triumphed against incessant adversity. We earned a celebration.”

Then, Diana coiled her Lasso around Doom. You have earned a place in the deepest, strongest dungeon. You caused far too much suffering to go free.”

Doom looks like he'd like to do something to escape, or maybe make a haughty retort, but he's just too hurt... He just sort sits there, trying to focus...
