Re: IN-GAME THREAD: PARTE PRIMUS

"I do not kill, save for as a last resort," Manhunter said, without judgement. It was a brutal world they lived in, and death was a daily event. Just because the Manhunter chose not to kill didn't mean that it wasn't often necessary. "I am more interested in Justice than I am in Vengeance... though there are definitely times when Vengeance has its purpose."

Re: IN-GAME THREAD: PARTE PRIMUS

While the Manhunter & Rider trounced Tombstone, Wonder Woman faced the Rhino. Diana stood defiantly between the beast-man and the fleeing carriage, drawing herself to her full 6’3” height. “Hold, Beast-Man! Your Lizard-Man and the Aarokocra attempted to rob our carriage, and I overcame them.”

The Magic Lasso glowed in her hands. “You face an Amazon warrior, and tho’ you may come against us with all the hordes of Ares, you will not triumph!” She hurled the Lasso and attempted to bind the Rhino.

OOC:

04:14, Today: Wonder Woman rolled 8 using 2d6+1 with rolls of 5,2.  Lasso the Rhino.

The Manhunter takes 2 new damage (natural Toughness already subtracted.))

The Amazon does in fact ensnare Rhino in her lasso.

But before she can do anything about it, he YANKS her down toward him...

...And she fails to control her flight.

(GM rolls dice...

...Wonder Woman takes 4 damage (her natural Toughness already subtracted.))

Diana takes a horned-head-butt right in her own forehead, OW.

In reply to Tombstone (msg # 410):

"FOOL! MORE BURNING FOR YOUR FOUL SOUL!" The Rider roars as Tombstone strikes the Manhunter. The Rider breathes burning fire onto the very spirit of the villain, causing more pain from his victims to course through his being. Even if he does not feel guilt, he now knows first hand empathy...

(OOC: Tombstone takes 8 more stress damage.

22:59, Today: The Rider rolled 5,3 using 1d6+2,1d4 with rolls of 3,3.  More stress damage.

22:58, Today: The Rider rolled 13 using 2d6+3 with rolls of 5,5.  Its clobbering time.)

(Okay, now we DO need to talk about the math.

The option under It's Clobbering Time says:

----You hit hard (+1d4 or +1 Stress)

So you shouldn't be rolling 1d4 more stress. It's just 1.

I adjusted accordingly before, I think, and I shall do so now.)

Tombstone falls, and crawls away, shaking... but only a few yards, before he can't even continue that anymore.

Might want to keep an eye on him, but he seems unlikely to fight anymore right now... or in the next hour or two, really...

Re: IN-GAME THREAD: PARTE PRIMUS

Diana’s vision briefly turned white with pain from the Rhino’s brutal head butt.  Gritting her teeth, Diana focused herself with a defiant grunt. The Woman of Wonders rolled upright on her feet. Firmly grilling the Magic Lasso, she invoked the Lariat’s magic to dominate the Rhino’s will. “By the power of the Golden Lasso, I command you to submit!”

OOC:

01:57, Today: Wonder Woman rolled 7 using 2d6+2 with rolls of 4,1.  Confident: Magic Lasso.

The Rhino... struggles. He wants to attack... doesn't... Tries to break the lasso... Can't.

He's not attacking (yet), but... could it be that he literally doesn't know the meaning of the word "submit"?

Re: IN-GAME THREAD: PARTE PRIMUS

The Rider loops Tombstone's legs up with his chain, and gets back on his mount. He proceeds to drag the murderer along as he rides, knowing the creature's stone-like skin will save it from the worst of being moved along as such. For now, he had to find out the fate of those who where protecting the book.

"We must ride to find the others!" He says to the Manhunter, trusting the green man had his own form of transportation.

"I do not ride," Manhunter said plainly. In truth, horses didn't like him much. "But I fly."

With the slightest of efforts, he rose from the ground and followed the Rider.

Realizing that perhaps she overestimated the Rhino’s intelligence, Wonder Woman tried a simpler command. STOP! The Amazon tugged hard on the Magic Lasso as though she held reins, attempting to halt the Rhino. She again invoked the power of the Lasso to subdue her bearish opponent.

OOC:

15:27, Today: Wonder Woman rolled 8 using 2d6+2 with rolls of 5,1.  Confident: Magic Lasso.

The Rhino does not move, but he's sort of shuddering, like an animal might that had too many flies around it. He does not speak, nor attack, but he is also not calm. It's clear that-- for the moment-- Diana's control of this man-beast is tenuous.

Behind her, she's aware of The Lizard slowly trying to get to his feet...

Re: IN-GAME THREAD: PARTE PRIMUS

The Rider comes charging up, dragging Tombstone long with his burning chain. Not very gently either, as the villian bounces along the street. However, as predicted, given the murderers stone like skin it does him little harm.

However, given how durable Tomstone is, he may make a very useful blunt object. Say to hit Rhino with if the Amazon's lasso does not stop him.

The Rhino continues to not move, just sort of shudder and grimace angrily.

The Lizard, on the other hand, is now standing, and is almost done getting his head back together.

Seeing Tombstone being dragged behind The Rider, The Lizard has a moment of shock-- in as much as his reptilian face is readable, it's saying Nope--

If The Rider was a wagering man, his money might well be placed on the outcome of The Lizard attempting to make a run for it in the next second or so...

Re: IN-GAME THREAD: PARTE PRIMUS

Wonder Woman didn’t read The Rider’s mind, but she was of like mind as she saw an attack of opportunity when she noticed Tombstone dragged by the hellish chain. “BLAZE! LET’S ARRANGE A MEETING OF THEIR MINDS!” Amazonian muscles flexed as Diana tugged on her Magic Lasso! She whirled the Rhino on the taut Lariat, spinning him with the intention of slamming him hard into Tombstone!

OOC:

14:55, Today: Wonder Woman rolled 10 using 2d6+3 with rolls of 4,3.  It’s Clobbering Time! Forceful.

Slam Rhino into Tombstone!

In reply to Wonder Woman (msg # 422):

The Rider nods and swings the chain in a wide arc. Hurling the villain's rock like skull into the Rhino's head. The is an audible shudder of two hard substances smashing togeather with great force.

The flaming skull then glances at the Amazon. "Blaze is but the mount...I am the Rider."

ooc-21:33, Today: The Rider rolled 11 using 2d6+3 with rolls of 2,6.  Tombstone plus Rhino equals owie.

Re: IN-GAME THREAD: PARTE PRIMUS

Tombstone lies on the ground afterward, unmoving.

The Rhino (still bound by the golden lasso) is sort of on his hands and knees... a little dazed... but he's (slowly, very slowly) trying to stand up again...

(GM rolls dice)

The Lizard attempts to run for it... but he's still pretty dazed himself, so there's plenty of time for someone to attempt to catch him, if one wanted to do so...

Re: IN-GAME THREAD: PARTE PRIMUS

Sleep,” Wonder Woman commanded the Rhino. She deduced that simple commands might work more efficiently on the simple-minded brute. The power of the Magic Lasso would hopefully end their brawl on a peaceful note. Ares would still enjoy the repast from the violence his influence exerted on worldly events such as their fights to protect the Tome.

Out of the corner of her eye, Diana noticed the Lizard attempting to flee. “I believe the Lizard man hopes he can escape.” She gestured at the Lizard with her free hand. “Would you restrain him for questioning, please?”

OOC:

16:33, Today: Wonder Woman rolled 12 using 2d6+2 with rolls of 5,5.  Confident to subdue Rhino.

Re: IN-GAME THREAD: PARTE PRIMUS

At the phrase 'lizard man' the Manhunter grunted slightly, even as he flew past Diana like a shot.

"I do not believe that this is a lizard man, despite his appearance," he said, maneuvering himself in front of the Lizard and landing to block his way. "A man-lizard of some sort, of some artificial nature... although you may consider that a distinction lacking a difference."

He punched the Lizard in the face.

The Manhunter rolled 13 using 2d6+3 ((4,6)).
--Hit Hard
--Avoid retaliation

The Manhunter rolled 9 using 3d3,d4 ((1,2,3,3)).

Re: IN-GAME THREAD: PARTE PRIMUS

The Lizard is completely knocked unconscious, and Rhino slowly eases back down onto the ground, and starts to snore.

Let's see: Lizard, Tombstone, Electro, Rhino... Whom does that leave...?

The answer is made apparent soon as a crown of civilians come out of a nearby alley, carrying Spider-Man, whose clothing is all torn up and slashed. "Careful," says one citizen. "He's a hero."

They bring the torn-up Spider-Man, his mask now just barely covering most of his face, and lay him down in front of you. "He protected us from that vulture aaracokra," says another. "He kept knocking chimneys and things down on us, but Spider-Man protected us all, and then he beat the Vulture... But he got hurt doing it."

The mob drags The Vulture from the alley, too, not being at all careful with him. The Vulture is also unconscious.

"I can heal him," says a voice nearby.

"Good," says a woman, "because AHHHH A MONSTER!" and they all run.

Malkos ignores them, examining Spider-Man. "He'll live, but he might be done fighting for now." Malkos hands the book to Diana. "If Spider-Man improves enough, he, or I, will catch up to you. But I think it's more likely that you three will have to proceed and finish the mission alone. You're the strongest of us, anyway."

Malkos starts drawing a chalk circle around Spider-Man, and adding runes around the edges...
